I am probably the only person i know out of all my mate`s that is barmey about overclocking and its nice to be able to come on here and talk to people who understand me lol.
no pb
oc is my great passion but it is not only also :p: :D
so where is the girl on this photo of yours "Godzilla" ?? :D
i thinks in the right :)
Ohh, poor animals. Weren't they happier in their island where some poacher captured them
Really can't understand these behaviours.
Not a greenpeace guy, but if everyone like some of these reptiles, extinction is their future.
My point of view, as you felt free to post pics of these victims.
They are bearded dragons from down under and they cull them there as they are classed as vermin. So in away im doing a good thing....
Interesting it looks like you have faster ram and pretty much the same settings, but 30 sec's faster than you. Mine is also a very early chip.

Btw did you used to be in TAW?
I currently have a 150GB Raptor that I've had no problem running on the ICH9R controller using AHCI. Boot/OS Drive.
I recently tried to upgrade to the Samsung F1 as my new Boot/OS Drive. I have read the posts and threads about people having issues with using certain drives and I believe the Samsung was one of them.
Using a slipstreamed WINXP CD with the latest Intel AHCI Drivers version 7.8.0.1012:
This would always fail during the file copy of WINXP. It would get stuck on certain file copies for long periods of time and eventually give an error stating it was unable to copy the file. Every time I tried to reinstall it would get stuck on a different file.
F6 - with install of version 7.5.0.1017 from ASUSs' web site using a floppy:
This would copy all the files although it seemed really slow. Eventually after selecting the region and during the install it would bluescreen.
I eventually gave up and tried to run Samsung's HUTIL which found the ECC Error, although reading on the newegg forums it appears to be a problem with HUTIL and not the drive.
Has anyone successfully run the SAMSUNG F1 hard drives in AHCI or RAID yet? I know another poster in this thread was successful in running a non-F1 Samsung successfully using the latest BIOS and 7.5.0.1017 drivers.
I like the reviews and specs on this drive but wonder if it's a problem with the drive or our motherboards (P5K-Premium). Dont have another MB or another Samsung F1 to test.
My Specs:
8400@4050
ASUS P5K-Premium BIOS v504
Kingston 4x1GB 8500 HyperX
Western Digital 150GB Raptor
oop's my bad! There you go,.:D

Me to played in FC with you, under the name Scarecrow!
Can anybody tell me if you have usb legacy on auto enable or disable? And if so do you have the controller mode on high speed or full speed.
Cheers .
By the way, looks like my motherboard is a roxor. I'm now stable at 8x475 on my Q6600 with everything on lowest: vFSB 1.20, vNB 1.25, clock overcharge 0.7v
Stability is with small FFT and OCCT in RAM mode
Think I'm lucky with that board
Hi everyone,
I have the p5K premium with 2gb of crucial ballistik memory and a Q6600 G0. Has anyone experienced an issue where the machine will literally slow to a crawl during a reboot? The Ai flash screen is horribly slow and the screen repaints over and over. Once you enter the bios, a click of the arrow key results in a 1 - 2 second delay until the screen reacts. I have had this happen on 2 of these boards. One had crucial memory and the other has ocz. I tried manually configuring the memory speed and voltage, removing memory, disabling most features, etc. Nothing seems to resolve this. Both machines have an ocz 700W game extreme power supply so I plan on trying another PS tonight. Just thought I would put this here for opinions. I had a thread on it in the main area for a while, but never got anywhere with resolving it. Eventually, the bios checksum showed as bad so I rma'd that board. I got it back this week and suddenly, this board is doing the slow boot again.
I am calling ASUS today but am totally stumped on this one.
not sure but it could be something to do with you video card bios
Rich
Try another PSU and if your problem persists that can be ruled out and we can put our heads together and figure it out. Since this is the second board with the same problem, take the board out of the equation as well.
Try plugging your hdd(s) into a different slot. Also, if you have an IDE optical drive installed, remove it and test as well.
OK. Update. I called ASUS and they mentioned a problem with Antec PS and another brand I cannot remember. However, they had not seen this issue with OCZ. I got home and tried another power supply. I tried different memory. I tried one stick, two sticks, bank a, bank B. Same issue. I tried removing power to all devices except the MB, PSU, vid card, and main HD. Same issue.
I just got the board back from rma and it has 0204 bios on it. Should I try updating that?
Gotta run to take the dog to training. Be back later with more to try.
BTW. This is a 600W ps in this system. I have a new in box ocx 700w I can try tonight too. I'm stumped.
Upgrade to 0404/0504 were mainly in the hope of fixing the ICH9R/SATAII problem with AHCI/RAID. I didnt have the problem and upgraded in the hope of a higher overclock. Didnt see much difference between the BIOS's apart from some additional voltages/strap settings. I am sure others may offer a different view but I would stay on 0204 until you get to the bottom of this problem. What hard drives are u running IDE or sata or both. ? whats your full spec. Have u run any of the compnents on another MB before building this one?
How does the P5k Premium work with E8400?
i would try another video card had something like this wiyh a 9500pro and a asus p4c800 e deluxe slow bios changed card and it went away
Rich
Thanks guys. Just back.
The drives are all sata. No ide components at all. 2hds and 2 dvd. right now, I am only using one drive and no dvd. I have swapped out the memory with another pc. I'll try another vid card too. I am also going to play around with different sata ports.
Right now, the main drive is a WD 500GB(Rebadged Seagate). i had to get it when I orignally built the system(Around p5k prem release date) because of the issues with my original samsung drive.
After all this, I finally removed the usb KVM switch from the picture and whamo. It worked. I can't believe a 2 port kvm caused that big of an issue, but it did. I have all components back in the box and its up and working.
Thanks for all the help. Sorry I did not think of that earlier. I had the Keyboard, mouse, and monitor shared with a laptop docking station. So much for that.
 :lol live and learn
