You mean you can downgrade from 803 to 702 using EZ-flash?That's weird!!!
U can do it with an early asus update (haven't tried it, but some ppl reported success). Or by using TNT Enforcer and every asus update.
EZ flash doesn't work. At least it didn't on my P5B Deluxe when reverting back from 1004 bios.
Nope, haven't tried that.Quote:

Edit: I should mention make sure your boot priority consists of 1) removable disk 2) cd/dvd drive 3) hardrive etc..As long as removable disk is first, the bios will look for it, and make sure usb thumb drive is in with power completely off before you turn it on.
is it only me that my audio is terrible on this Commando? my AV710 is not working as usual in any other board i had tried so far (DS4, P5B-D, P5B-E Plus). the music produced is really horrible. it's either my Aego M faulty or the soundcard but i highly doubt it's my Aego. anyone? anyway, my X-Fi Extrememusic is on it's way. i hope it will sound better.
I ran fsb=533 under Tower 120, and get Pi 1M
Bios setting: 533*7, Vcore=1.500, Vdimm=2.4V 5-5-5-15-5 or Vdimm=2.5V 4-4-4-4-4
NB Vcore=1.25V ,FSB Term.=1.20V
Everytime I can run Super PI 1M,but when I open CPUZ, system hang, but CrystalCPUID will not.
If I set NB Vcore=1.60V,FSB Term.=1.4V, that's the same.
Strange

damn, what kind of tweaks did you use? your s-pi time is incredibly fast. it should be ~15s

@ nobody.cn
which cpu is it?
crystal says original 2.66Ghz (10x266) with 2mb L2?
it give no Allendale with 2.66Ghz default speed. Or is it a E6700 but crystal read it wrong out?
for a conroe is it a normal time
Yes, it's a 6700B0, crystal shows just only one core(you see cpu 1/2 there).
The 800 series bioses are for 1333 fsb cpus.Of course you can downgrade from 803 to 801, but you can't from 803 to 702 or 601 which are for 1066 bus cpus.Quote:

And stability @ 3,5GHz, BOX cooling :D (+ additional 120mm 1200RPM, but not blowing straight to the CPU).

And BTW, could You tell me what is with this 3:4 FSB:RAM ratio?? I've never heard of it on i965P, and IIRC I set 1:1 @ BIOS ;).
Full "review" by me http://forum.pclab.pl/t233798.html, in Polish ;).
hello,
What should the highest nb vcore should ever be? I have it on auto right now and its at 1.58v.
Has anybody found the key to orthos stability with this board. I can run orthos priority 9 for about 19hours then i get a reboot.
Settings
467x9 4.2ghz
Mem 4-4-4-8@2.2v in bios. Board overvolts to 2.25v
Nb 1.35v The board overvolts again to 1.4v
Vfsb 1.20v
Ddr2 ref -30mv
Sb vcore 1.5
Sb chipset 1.050
All other voltages are at the lowest level selectable in bios
and i've included a screen of what pc probe reads them as since im not sure of the true settings in bios.
Memset subtimings are also included in the screen.
I know some of you guys couldnt really care for orthos stability but i was just curious to see what it takes for someone to attain some real stability on this board.
Whats killing me is that its not just failing but its rebooting and i cant really understand why its rebooting. I mean if its stable enough to run for 19hours and even over 24hrs on a lower priority why isnt it just giving me an orthos failed message rather than a complete reboot.
The only other wierd thing the board does is asus probe reports a dip in sb (sata pcie) voltage every 10min or so. From 1.52 to 1.21 then back up after about 10 secs. Its something i noticed since the first time i've used pc probe on the board. I just assumed it was a software error, if anyone else has experienced the same please chime in. This also happens when the board and cpu is stock with no ocing.
Im running 467fsb, can the board do 4:5 at fsb that high?
Also before its asked and even though i know better i havent tried any other program to test for stability yet.
Hi All
I recently purchased a Commando based on all the fantastic reports around the net. I got an E4300 and some GEIL pc-6400 low latency ram (2gb) to go with it. The rest of my system comprises of a tuniq tower 120, corsair hx620 and an 8800gts. The problem I am finding is that no matter what, I cannot get over 343mhz fsb. I drop the multi to 6 to rule out the cpu (has tested stable at 334 x 9) and increase the fsb to ANYTHING over 343 and it will not post. I have updated to bios 0803, tried FSB's above 400 on a recommendation that there is a hole between 333 and 400 and nothing I do seems to work, increase voltages as much as I like and still the same result.
Any ideas as to what could cause the problem? Think it may just be a bad board? If so Ill send it back and get another one, before I do that I just wanted to find out if it worth my while or if the cpu could be the cause for some reason. Thanks for any help on this matter!
I was able to downgrade from 803 to 702 by using an old version of AFUDOS. Classical EZ flash, asus update and recent AFUDOS226..didnīt work.Quote:

I have a weird issue however - Every time I save my BIOS settings it cuts power to the mobo and cold boots! When I run a single cheap stick of generic RAM and save BIOS settings, it reboots normally (no power cut). I'm wondering if it's due to the 2.3v I'm running with the RAM as opposed to the 1.9.
Does anyone else have this problem? I'm running version 0803.
i would be overly happy with 19 hours of orthos....don't bust a gut trying to get perfection with computers.;)Quote:
