The cover could have popped during the shipping, but the clips on the cover are actually broken. I doubt this could have happened during shipping.
Luckily, the pins are a-ok.
A glance over the board and my relief for the non damaged LGA turns into a slight worry:
The SB heatsink has a bent pin. No damage around the components and ICs surrounding SB, though. While checking the board for any other anomalies I found that someone had left a little present for me near the cpu socket.
A piece of scorched plastic dangling on a SMD chip. :rolleyes:
Flipping the board upside down revealed even more attrocities.
The PCB is covered with some grey goo. :wth:
