My patience has run out with this "Black screen" problem Ive done everything under the sun.Ill give it till the official bios is released and that is it!!!:slapass: Im going to Inflict some serious whoopass on this board.:explode2: pics will be included:D

The board started looking suspicious from the moment I pulled it from the ESD protective bag; first thing that caught my eye was the dislodged LGA socket cover.

The cover could have popped during the shipping, but the clips on the cover are actually broken. I doubt this could have happened during shipping.

Luckily, the pins are a-ok.
A glance over the board and my relief for the non damaged LGA turns into a slight worry:

The SB heatsink has a bent pin. No damage around the components and ICs surrounding SB, though. While checking the board for any other anomalies I found that someone had left a little present for me near the cpu socket.
A piece of scorched plastic dangling on a SMD chip. :rolleyes:

Flipping the board upside down revealed even more attrocities.
The PCB is covered with some grey goo. :wth:

I received my P5B dlx a few days ago, no boot --> Black screen --> RMA

Tested with another cpu, vc, ram...

I bought Asus p5b Deluxe WiFi and I am not yet into it.

Could you tell if I should put a new BIOS and whick one?Or I should leave like it is?

Other stuff : Conroe E6300,2x512mb Crucail 667mhz(or 2x1024mb Kingmax 667mhz) , Seasonic 430w,Hitachi 250gb.

some help please...

Can't remember if this happened to me at stock but has happened with all 3 of my mobo's as well

Its not a bad board everyone has it going up past a certain FSB or Voltage I forgot which. A guy answered this over at OCForums had a response from an Asus rep said it was normal for it to do that. I think mine was good up to 333Mhz FSB thats when it started to kick in, but I'd have to test that again.

I find it annoying.

The double-start is "normal" for this board when overclocking past a certain point.

Largon i noticed a bent pin of the SB heatsink on my p5b-del also. i thought i had bent it somehow, but mayve its from the factory like that?
and ALL the p5b-s are dirty, looks like a "cool" feature :D

Would you believe my motherboard also had a bent pin on the SB heatsink? And almost the exact same position, if not the same pin!

I bent it back gently with a knife. No other worries for me luckily. You'd tend to think there's something wrong with Asus' packaging process.

Ah well. The bent pin seems to be a "feature".

But it doesn't bother me for the heatsink is coming off as soon as I get the board to post. Or a working replacement.

I've got something better for the ICH8R to hide under. :p:

well i am also having issues with the 2 usb ports next to the audio jacks... they only seem to work some of the time. the other 2 work great. USB optical mouse doesnt even light up when connected to the top 2.

Haven't had an issue with any USB Ports, on the back or the ones to connect up to an extra PCI slot or front ports.

Little more testing...
Seems to happen after removing an external HD. I lose the mouse and its back to normal after reboot. (just top 2 next to audio jacks)

how come my setup isnt stable when booted at 400FSB and 500MHz DDR2, but is stable when booted at 401FSB and 501MHZ DDR2.
at all my setup seems unstable at 400FSB (good to bench and prime long time): after a shutdwon or restart it doesnt POST.

Mine also came with a bent pin, but it was the corner one.

So yes, it appears to be "normal" :stick:

IMHO, no.

I was Orthos stable @ the settings in sig for 5+ hrs, & now with bios 0706 (same exact setting), i am only Orthos stable for a couple hours :slapass:

:clap: ok guys this is the place for me to ask if you all can give me a push in the right diection for getting 445x9 or more...right now I am at 400X9 @ 1.45V in bios 100% stable...I have tried EVERY Vcore in bios to get to the 4ghz mark and just can't seem to get it...computer just restarts...here is what it looks like in my bios:

CPU Type: E6600
Clock SPeed: 3600Mhz
Stepping: L627A795
Vcore Set in bios: 1.45v

Cooling: water
Cooler brand/model: See Sig

Motherboard: ASUS P5B Deluxe
Bios Version: 0614
Memory: G. Skill HZ
Rated speed: 6400
Timmings: 4-4-4-12 @ 2.3V

What suggestions would you have me do?

Depending on how hard you're pushing the ram frequency, maybe relax your ram timing? Additionally also look at NB/SB/FSB term/ICH voltages?
