:-( dont want to flash it back!!!
Card worked fine up until now with my new system. 3d marks all run fine no probs, and getting expected scores.
1 beep alright, continuous, have to power of the machine to get out of the loop.
Also, no .dmp file is written, only thing I can find in event log is some network error about something not having rights to access the network. But seems to happen when I have the crash. (not a virus BTW)
I cant remember the details (in work at the mo so cant check). Tried the MS fix for it by amending permissions, but no luck.
It would hardly be that causing it, would it?
**edit,
Oh yeah, I use a USB G5 mouse, could it be the USB issue? (using F5 BIOS)
Thanks!Quote:

1) I seem to recall reading somewhere that if you're going from a single core CPU (Celeron in my case) to a dual core, you need to run a few lines of code from the command prompt... I can't seem to find them at all. Anyone know them or can point them out to me?
2) I want to disable the Jmicron controller - is that the "onboard SATA/IDE Device" setting in the Integrated Peripherals section of the BIOS?
Thanks.
I need all latest DS3 Drivers, I lost my DS3 Driver CD and I look gigabyte offical website they dont update to latest
can someone help me and others one time for always!
the drivers in gigabyte site are newer than de drivers of CD .Quote:

Ok, update.
Loaded optimised defaults, and all seemed well, although RAM was at 533 :-(, but at least I got through a full round
Thought maybe it was fraps causing the crash, as it had been running everytime. So alt-tabbed out, loaded up fraps, and played half a round, and it locked up.
So, reset my OC 400x8, ram at ddr800, but with looser timings 5 5 5 15
Locked up half way through a round, no fraps running.
Loaded optimised defaults again, ran without fraps, locked up again.
Took out my SB Live! using Azalia (sound wasnt bad actually!), thought that may have been the issue, but it locked up again, @ stock.
Grrrrrrrr. So I dont really know whether the board does not like my ram (although it would pass large FFT's for hours, manually stopped it) or maybe its my USB mouse causing the issue.
But to be honest, if I cannot game with my Logitech G5 (merely because its USB) I'd rather get a different board.
Any ideas?
Gonna try re-installing the game at stock speeds, and see if that fixes it.
Dublin,
I am experiencing reboots now also, even though I disconnected all usb and connected regular keyboard to keyboard connector and mouse to PS2 connector.
So USB is to rule out in my case.
Comp was stable for 3 weeks and only things I changed last week was 1) install raid array with XP and 2)install iexplorer 7 RC1
So in my case I believe it's something to do with this. I don't have a lockup but an instant reboot with a small squeal in the speakers.
Either there is a bug or my power supply can't supply enough power.
Well I'm using F5, so I think the USB thing was sortedf out, maybe someone can confirm.
Running XP Pro x64, the game just freezes, says 'there is a problem with your connection' and the screen locks, no artifacts, just a freeze, with a continuous beep from the speakers. Seems like ram, but no BSOD, grrr
Ok. :) The stuff in the first post is bullsh*t then and should be removed.Quote:

I'm hesitant to be taking that back plate off the Gigabyte that's on there now with out messing anything up.
Any suggestions, or can I just go ahead and take it off or leave it on and mount the Thermaltake over it ... ???
AFAIK there a few people already using that cooler with that board.
best thing to do is try a mock up to test it will fit.
Thermaltake dont provide a compatibility list, and in fact go as far as saying**editQuote:
The 4in1 series coolers utilize H-clips which can only be mounted onto motherboards with the reference mounting holes around the CPU socket and reference metal backplate. Also, it is your responsibility to check to see whether or not the motherboard's capacitors around the CPU socket will interfere with mounting of the coolers as well.
BTW, you CANNOT use 2 back plates!!! Either use the one thats on the motherboard (if its the right type) or use the one supplied with the cooler. There should be no problem swapping the backplate
Is CoreTemp accurate with the DS3? I'm getting 43/44 deg idle on my 6600 w/ Scythe Infinity.
Thats what I get with my e6400 and 9500.
It takes the temp from the hottest part of the core (so people say). How it does that I dont know, but there ya are.
True, I am using a FSP 700W and it works fine - nothing wrong with FSPQuote:

Hello, i have a problem with my new conroe rig. Spec. E6300,DS3,2x512mb Corsair 5400,WD5000YS 500gb,X-Fi Xtreme Music,Leadtek 6600GT,LG 4167B
My problem:
If I want to listen to music or watch some video, the computer crash after some time.Games, test etc. everything is alright. Orthos 12h stable, memtest 6h stable, I have played Nhl 07,Fear... I have changed all the software, new drivers, new bios nothing helped. I have changed also the soundcard, but the same result. Do you think that this could do motherboard?
Thanks for answers and sorry for my bad english:)
Well I'm testing out my new rig:
E6600 Week 27
Scythe Infinity
Team D9 667
DS3 w/ TT Spirit NB cooler
GameXStream 700W
I've got it at 9x400, trying Orthos now... Vcore in BIOS is set to 1.475 I'm getting load temps of 65 deg in EzTune and 75 deg in Core Temp. PC will just reboot, not lock up, so I'm guessing that's not enough vcore?
Are those temps high for the Infinity, or just normal for that high of a vcore? I'm running the rig in a 3D Aurora case, and the Scythe is blowing the air right through to the 2 x 120mm fans, so I'm not sure airflow is the problem. Heatpipes are slightly warm.
Not enough vcore??????
You shouldnt need that much at all, your PC is rebooting because its overheating m8, and 3.6 just might not be possible for your CPU without some better cooling.
75c is WAY too hot IMO
The new TT BT VX doesnt need a backing plate.Quote:

Yeah, I figured as much... Backed it off to 3.5 and 1.425. Getting 40 idle/ 60 load in EZ Tune and 52 idle / 70 load in Core Temp.Quote:

Try running your cpu fan at 100%
