Just upgraded from my old A64 3000+:

2x1GB Kingmax PC4300

And after some overclocking, this is what I managed to achieve:

I can only get up to 408 before my system would error indicating a failed bios setting.
I'm going to run Orthos until I wake up, about 9 hours from now :D

Thanks, alpha0ne! I'm stil amazed by those Kingmax DDR2 533 sticks. I was hoping max 800mhz but they went pretty much up, and I wasn't expecting that. And my C2D also, but in this case I knew it could go far. :rolleyes:Quote:

Nice OC but I'd try and get those temps down a bit if I were you......
Those temps seem very strange to me. I've touched the base of heatsink, and it's warm. At 68C should be hot, so I don't think they're real.
Be warned that Intel's spec state 61.4C max temp.
use CoreTemp ASAP , but even 50C is too much for everyday

There was bad contact or AS5 applied incorectly. And that's not for everyday use. I removed the heatsink, and put some new AS5(vertical line in center of HS) and I got lower temps.Quote:

Here's the weird thing: I can boot @ 479fsb no problem, but 480 is a no go. Anyone else have this problem?

nope it's definitely not the ram, I've tested it up to around 520 using 667 with no issues, and that was on 2.0v. From what I read in the biostar thread, there's a few other people with 6300's and my board that have the exact same problem...will boot at 379 no problem, but 380 is no go. My chip is stable @ 475 or so on 1.41v, but no matter how many volts I put through everything, it just won't boot at 480. Kinda disappointing to be honest :\
People, these can take more than 50C 24/7. Merom is the same core in a notebook, and before I downloaded I8KFanGUI cpu temps in dual prime where like 75C. even saw 80C before the high speed fans kicked in. Sames cores, so dont tell me they cannot take 50. Yes, TCase are different, but I would say anything 60C or below is 100% fine.
