In actual fact, Komplett have been saying the 21st of August for ages. I preordered from there in July when it was showing that date as I was in no rush. The same day that OCUK (shudders) got a batch in, so did Komplett and mine shipped as did somebody elses back on page 12 by the sound of it. I wouldn't pay any atttention to the expected date Komplett are showing, they often ship stuff to me a lot quicker than their due dates show :). I like Dabs too but I don't find them to be the fastest at getting new products in usually.

I pre-ordered from Komplett about a month ago and they changed the ETA 3 times with the last being 21/08, however last week (2nd/3rd August) Komplett and many other etailers recieved a batch of E6600's and the stock status did indeed change, something like "88 due today" and then "23 in stock" then end of friday out of stock again with ETA 21/08 which is probably their original shipment and perhaps Komplett somehow got their hands on an extra shipment.

Anyway, mine is coming next week :D

Cheapest I can find the E6600 in stock is £233 but someone quoted on OcUK forums he managed to get it for £215 and I can't for the life of me find it (he has no email setup in details). Desperate to get it about £10 cheaper because can't spend more than £500 on my CC and I'm currently on £510 if I were to order. Any help appreciated.

No way you can phone up the cc company and pay say £10 or £15 on to the account via a Debit card etc in order to give you the buffer you need?

Mine is coming from Dabs for £219.99 delivered thanks to the free delivery weekend offer last week. Dabs and Komplett are the best bets but that is still £226-7 delivered.

After 1 year (2 years ago), my student CC went up to £900 so fear not - it's in the pipeline! :D.

Do Dabs take payment once ordered or only when stock is in? Their ETA is 3-4 days, do you know anything more on a date? I wouldn't mind waiting til Thurs-Fri next week really. Komplett looks like a 2 week wait.

Might have to give Natwest a ring. :)

You won't get it for £215 at the moment. I think he's talking about Komplett they had them for £215 on pre order a few weeks back. The cheapest I've seen is morecomputers £217 but no stock. Dabs is the best bet.

If you right click a process in task manager you can set priority to realtime

Doh too slow.

In task manager, right click to set application priority to realtime. Gives more resources to app.

Yeh I did try that. Seems that enabling SPD timings let me POST at 3.6 (400fsb..) so anyone who's hitting random walls around 360 fsb, enable spd timings! I know it sucks but cpu mhz > timings remember ;)

So, I had some progress anyway...

Mine is saying 52/54 Idle, wtf..?

Heatsink doesn't even feel hot under 100% load.. and pretty sure the contact is fine..

so it looks like your ram could be holding you back.
what vdimm are you using try increasing that.
when your at the higher fsb do you get any more ram divider options like on the p5wd2 and p5wd2-e. at 400fsb i would think you would have 533/667/800 again.
i think you should lock your pci express to 101 and pci to 33 in the bios and i noticed you disabled hyperpath.
just my experiance from overclocking my p5wd2-e and 920D.

No, you get 4:3, 1:1, 4:5, 3:4, and 1:2 like always

they reserve the funds and then take payment once the ordered is shipped, this is how practically all companies operate (exception with OCUK, I believe they take payment regardless)

if you cancel a pre-order it will take a couple of days for the unreserved funds to become available to you.

To consumers it is essentially the same as payment actually being taken since it eats up any credit limits you might have and the funds can not be used while reserved, but to the company, reserving and taking payment are very different things.

That is correct. OCUK help themselves to you cash immediatly regardless of how long the wait for the goods is so that they can make as much money off you as poss I think. It does miff more than a few folks. I only order from them when I absolutely have to or when they genuinely have something cheaper than competitors. Either way, once in a blue moon ;).

You seem to think it's a credit limit increase that Mr Footlong is suggesting. It's not. What you will be doing is paying money onto the credit card much in the same way as if you was just paying the monthly statement off. You can phone them up to do this or do it via online access if your bank has it. In either case you'll need a debit card (linked a current account of some kind that has the funds you want to put on the credit card).

Basically, this is what happens...

1) Currently your card has no spend on it and you have £500 available.

2) Phone up your card issuer or access your account online and put on, for example, £50 with a debit card.

3) You now have £550 available to spend on your card.
