It's REALLY hard to imagine the kind of POWER brought to the table by the XE Conroe... the darn thing may do 4gHz on AIR!!

I've been saying this for more than a month. :rolleyes:

To answer a couple questions. 1.500v vcore, cooling is by a modded VapoLS. I feel the wall is silicon based, not vcore or cooling based. The 2.4Ghz Conroe ES that FUGGER has will go to 3.6Ghz

3.33Ghz - 2.13Ghz = 1.2Ghz OC
2.4Ghz + 1.2Ghz = 3.6Ghz OC

hmmm....makes sense ;)

I hope to get a 2.66Ghz Conroe under phase soon. I think we may see just shy of 4Ghz on early silicon VERY soon. Should be sub-11's in SPI with a sky-high FSB.

The XE chips are going to be crazy. :eek:

Retail chips will be "B1" stepping or smth.. In all benchmarks so far we have only seen "A1" ES's..

Those chips are ES. Remember the first clawhammers and how bad they OCed at first.

i know that 3d mark reflect how it will perform on gaming, but its always nice to have gaming benchmark

to bad the e6700 isnt spread yet.. neither the XE.. we just have to wait a bit longer.

But other hardware is required to be the same IMO it's only wau to see real gaming performance: K8 (either AM2 or 939) vs. Conroe, same RAM (for AM2),
same VGA and "fresh" XP SP2.

So it's better to spend more time and get XE or Conroe B1 with decent multi and check the potential.

Great Job..
I dont think the title is misleading since he put Conroe XE in quotations.... It's just a conroe Overclocked to XE speeds.. a lil difference in FSB but close enough to see what we can expect from Conroe XE. Thankyou FCG.

Also.. I thought Vcore could not be changed on any of the baords that Conroe is on (badaxe).. How did you get 1.5V core?

Great results..I know I will be using conroe mainly for gaming like alot of people here, any way to test out some FPS with doom, farcry, battlefield, anything!? thanks. (have something to compare to with AMD)

How about dual superpi 32M on Conroe @ 2.9 ?

I know I've also seen a dual 1M here on XS with Conroe or Merom, but I haven't found it yet.
