Great to see you running Conroe:toast: Can you get higher FSB with lower multy? Or is this as much the MB can handle?Quote:

hehe, he wants a lot for it though  can't guess why :p:
edit:
dam that's not even it!!
Bus Speed: 800 MHz
Processor Class: Intel Pentium D
he wants £900 for that!?!?! LOL
i think it is a Intel Xeon MP 7041 / 2x 3.00GHz / 200MHz FSB / 2x 2048kB Cache / 604-pin
Fugger, what mobo are you using to get that conroe to work?
no,the guy ensure ths is woodcrest 5160 3G default frequency,:DQuote:

16s @ 3,1 GHz !!!
can we see some 32m runs ???
OMG, that's fast :D
somebody that sees what mobo this is?

That is a 2.13Ghz chip that is doing a 40% plus overclock on air cooling and producing Superpi scores in the 16s bracket.
And will cost $240.
AM2 will have to be good and will have to be CHEAP. However maybe the people who say AMD for games an Intel for 2d benches are right and we should not get excited.
Regards
Andy
I knew that ;)
just wanna know on what mobo
it looks like a gigabyte northbridge heatsink. Dunno though.Quote:

maybe they pixellated it in order to prevent you from seeing what it is?Quote:

X2’s are faster
X2’s use less power
Intel’s are cheaper
So it is clear that x2’s win 2/3 of the main things we want in our cpus with Intel winning 1 thing “price” which is arguably the most important and probably saving Intel from losing more market share than it has.
Now I think it is safe to say that Conroe is going to be faster that x2 & am2 even die hard amd fan boys have said that Conroe will not wipe the floor with am2 it will probably be even or slightly faster. So it is safe to say that Conroe will be 1-20% faster.
I also think Conroe is going to be fantastic with power consumption, Intel are the ones pushing performance per watt of power consumed. On the other hand it seems amd’s way forward now is to ramp up clock speeds. The rolls will reverse and amd will be the high powered high GHz one
And if Intel release Conroe anywhere near the prices they have said they will they will keep there lead with price
Conroe will be faster
Conroe will use less power
Conroe will be cheaper
I know a lot of amd fan boys will not like this but at least you can be sure in the knowledge that amd will take the lead back and Intel fan boys can be sure that Intel will probably take the lead back after that and so on.
any more news on that xeon cpu?
its lv model es 333fsb socket 771, right?
Xeon 5160 - 4M 1333FSB 3ghz
Xeon 5150 - 4M 1333FSB 2.66ghz
Xeon 5140 - 4M 1333FSB 2ghz
Xeon 5120 - 4M 1066FSB 1.86ghz
Xeon 5110 - 4M 1066FSB 1.6ghz
Q3 Lauch, work in 5000 series chipset with Dual Independent FSB  and FBDIMM memory technology.
Merom/Conroe NGMA type core. This should be super fast in PCMark, and if we get overclockable boards like the ol PC-DL, then we are going to be in for some fun with this platform. I just doubt we will ever see dual x16 graphics, maybe dual x8 so crossfire should work. I have been thinking about this for my next setup after Conroe but we have to wait on the boards being invented.
wow, that's impressive!
So very true, no good having high performance server chip for overclockers with no "foundation" to launch from. I hope someone like Asus or even Iwill come to the party and with 2 x 16x CF or Sli support. Also, for my sake availability down here in OZ. :)Quote:
