SATA converters are cheap. and this board has 8 sata slots... i dont see any problem.

I lapped both the coolers, the mosfets werent making good contact at all, the two coolers are identical... Just FYI, i highly doubt the fans on my board are neccesary.
That's a Horrible lap job....
Its not like he needed a mirror finish, They don't even get hot. If anything it was sufficient in removing the bubble gum style thermal pads, which is about all thats necessary, it barely gets warm with 1.5 to NB, stock volts is 1.22....
...and as I told Revv already, the mosfets are rated to work properly up to 145 or 175°C (now that is what I would call pretty ficking hot! :eek: 175°C give you immediatelly painfull burn on your finger when touched, so, go figure...) so having them at around 40°C when the Opty was at 1.5Vcore and 3Ghz run is like freezing their a$ses to dead :p: :D

As for the SATA - like I say - it depends on if I can use these devices like PATA ones on Drive Image for backups. If or untill not - I'm not interesed at all in SATA ;)
chew* - sorry to hear you lost. You should ask others for opinions and I would support you strongly in this. In short, Manta is not for the hi-end users that want SLI run and excelent X-Fi or other professional brand soundcard. One simply can't use SLI and PCI soundcard there. And the second PCI slot like in RX480 might be good idea as well - there are people with all sorts of PCI devices that then can't but this mobo just for this design flaw.
But at least is a good idea that some designers start realizing that for example the second PCI slot bellow the AGP/PCIE can't be ever used, so, removing it is a good idea ;)
unforunately as it was told to me I will relay on to you guys. It was either usable PCI slots or well spaced plenty of breathing room PCI X slots. Now you ask why that much room is necessary as other manufactures don't require that much space and i have the answer. Dual evaps or dual DI tubes........ Honestly how many boards can that be acchieved on to this date......Point being this is built to OC and built to break records and as far as sound goes the realtek HD chip rivals that of most sound cards to date.
Juicing the chipset releases the LDT speed...i may get higher but I managed to match the 1600 seen in this thread.

I think this board's on-board HD audio offers pretty much everything like the X-Fi....
Its a very very high quality realtek HD audio chip according to realteks site its the best they have.
One thing that could be bad about it is that the onboard sound would require cpu resources to process. IIRC, the xfi is one of the first consumer sound cards which isn't based on an asic and actually handles the processing of audio on its own.....Quote:
