Well, the BIOSes seem to perform similarly - in no way was I suggesting the BOARDS performed equally.Quote:

*MIGHT* be able to get some more LBDHE 0601 chips if people are interested... Depends if the shop we got this chip has any more in stock...
Otherwise, those in the UK wanting chips pop to "PC world" (shudder) thats where we found this... Cost a little over the odds, but you get to choose the stepping before you buy...
so there is no point flashing right?.....if there are any noticable differences apart from cosmetics let us know heyQuote:

What about DS/DDS on EXPERT with Venus BIOS, is it still same EXPERT DS/DDS or has it changed to Venus DS/DDS?
:toast:
onepagebook thats a really nice 4600. hope it really has no cold bug at all.
can you do a little test for me? test how high (with a small multi) can you go on HTT, no matter the mem divider
my guess is that if you can do now lets say 380htt @ -65 CPU temp @ -100 cpu temp (LN2) your max htt will be ~300.
:toast: good luck
PC World (they are a UK nationwide store), dont charge premium for stepping, they charge a premium for everything  . Or put it another way, there prices in General really take the biscuit, its a store for the masses, and the masses dont really know when they are getting ripped off.....Quote:

He's talking outta his ass :p: There isn't anything there that looks promising. In fact I've messaged a couple of the sellers who were showing the "A" stepping cpu's in their descriptions only to have them tell me that the pic ISN'T of the actual cpu which is for sale :rolleyes:Quote:

http://valid.x86-secret.com/show_oc?id=78728 @ -51C evap, -32C CPU (indicated), screenie available. Wonder if 428x7 is feasible? If you don't see any more from me.... :D
http://valid.x86-secret.com/show_oc?id=78742 well, after a CMOS clear (7.5x to be avoided) and it didn't like any 7x, 400x8 it had to be. -48C evap, -29C CPU (indicated), screenie to follow. :toast:
awesome job OPB, i wonder what my LDBHE 4200+ would do under dice or a nice cascade like yours.
With a bit of luck, there'll be a screenie of my 3.3v rail caving in. At 415x8 lol. No time for validation unfortunately, and not reproducible now, but I'll try with a cold rig tomorrow. Thanks OPB, I've a great laugh with this tonight because of your thread. :D
i normally use 6xmulti for HTT testing......well all i ever test for is up to 400MHz........if it does that i'm happy........and both my Expert and UltraD have no issues doing that........Quote:

DUDE WHAT HAPPENED TO YOUR 3.3V RAIL  .....looks like a bug or something hey
Don't bother, it won't have one :)Quote:

that's abold statementQuote:

the problem is it's multi now.if you had unlocked multis you could easily run this chip on ln2 at it's lowest temps. if your cpu can do 300mhz @ ln2 then you should have some nice ln2 runs.
unlocked multis are such an advantage of FX chips. even if you are cold buged at a given temp at 270htt you can still use the next multi!
Trust me, if you've seen as many of these BH controllers as I have, you'd feel the same way as me ;)Quote:

why not just try for the hell of it :DQuote:
