This doesn't make sense. I know for sure that his board doesn't have dielectric grease. He never messed around with subzero cooling...
Either they mistakened it for another, or they screwed up big time.
(Btw, here is a big clue: They said they hadn't received his board even after two weeks it arrived. After he e-mailed them again, they finally admitted they have it)

Yes. I sent the Board to the head quarters not more than 100 Miles from my home. It supposedly took more than two weeks to get there. After I emailed them, someone named Donna Responded "We Just received it Yesterday". I didin't mind.
But this board I ran for no more than 10 minnutes with a Venice 3000+ and Boxed Heatsink.
Fry's warrenty is 30 days, DFI's is 3 years. So I coudn't Return to Fry's
If I did pour Chemical into the socket as the email claims, I would have no problem with its rejection. Yet that is not the case, so I am troubled.

Did you write down the serial number of the one you returned? If you did it should be easy to spot if it really is your mobo :)Quote:

Has anyone thought about the idea that it might not be DFI's fault at all that some stupid customer bought the board then switched them out and then returned it to frys as if he never opened it and then frys put it back on the shelf to sell. Then the OP bought it and it did not work and he did not know it was already messed up and used and sent it in to DFI. DFI has no reason to try to screw someone out of maybe 50 bucks (their cost to make a board probably) if it was their fault to begin with. All they have is a messed up board that looks as though the OP messed with it. He should return it to frys and raise hell with a manager. Bring the RMA info with you to frys. I know frys customer service sucks but still thats what you should do. As long as it was RMAed with in 30 days of purchase and you have proof they should not argue with you. If there is a problem and you paid with a CC get the CC people involved.
I work in customer service for a large retail chain and I have seen it happen before (specificly I sold a camera one day they returned it later that day, they seemed fishy when they bought it and I checked the box when they returned it and had switched the cameras, had I not of looked into it it would of been put back on the shelf). I know the very very little details to look for though but im sure others dont care as much as I do.

Just got my RMA back today... same board (serials and revision match). The only thing wrong with it was the inductor whining, so I emailed Donna @ DFI to see if it was replaced or not, I have no clue otherwise

According to Donna the board tested fine.. which I can see from their perspective since the board would only make the noise at certain times... still a waste of time and money for me though :(
I got a reply email from Donna @ DFI

So I think they do not believe that I did not put Chemicals in the socket. ...
Or (is it possible?) that someone bought it from Fry's fubared it, returned it and you ended up buying it, not knowing of what LURKSSS beneath the socket?
