Glad this board is getting more exposure. Its highly underrated by most people. By far the stablest I have ever used. I just hope that I recieve my Newer platform soon as I'm very curious how that compares to this one.
as far as high volts revv i tend to use 1.60 when running above 3.5vdimm.I try to keep vcore a little less than half vdimm. Ran mine all the way up to 3.85v at 273 fsb, still going strong.....

Im wondering if the chip dieing is because of the board or my vcore being too low... anyone know more about this?
I ran my opty 170 bare core at 1.55volts and no problems. But I don't pump insane amounts of volts through my mem either.
U pretty much pumping almost 2.5times the vcore through the memory controller. Opties are a little big more fragile I think.

I go to University of Northwood, its a very small school that focus' strictly on business.
1.55 probably was not the cause. I ran my 3200+ at 1.62 for about 8 months water cooled without any problems.
Heh heh, Northwood is only 40 minutes from me.

Lol, im just messing with you, but honestly, 1.55 isnt to much for cpu, i think chew was right and 1.55 was too little voltage. pisses me off cause the cpu was running at 23c at 2.65 ghz, the last time i maxed the cpu out it was much hotter (35c at same volts) and it got to 2.8 1.65v... i think i would have had 2.9 on air TBH.
Btw i found the week of the cpu, CCBWE 0541 SPMW.
I am really sad to have lost such an able cpu.
Nice pics Revv23, Your board looks hot.. But i'm gonna comment, that although the board is one heck of a PCB, Sapphire i feel has abandon it for the up and coming RD580, and the evidence to this is no new bios for the little bugs here and there.
Yeah sapphire sucks, the design is great, support is crap.

OK fine, its four in the morning, i have a two hour drive to school ahead of me, and i have class at ten, but once again i get hooked to my PC...
I just said, hey why not try a bit... so i leave everything at stock and shoot for 250x10... BAM 2500mhz, stock vcore on this is 1.4v.. cooling is my TTBT with a panaflo high speed at 5v right now, my girlfriend is asleep right next to me so i cant fire it up right now :toast:
ok so i open ati manager and then bam, 2700 mhz, easy... i needed to change the pll speed, so after i locked up at 2900, i booted at 280x10 stock setting all around... i snagged this with no effort at all:

Sorry for the wierd colors, it did that when i compressed the image... But remember this is on all stock settings aside from 100 divider, fans on low even :toast: i think i got a good one :)

looking good, quite alot of voltage though.. is that cpu-z reading correctly and if so do you really need that much for 3ghz?
