Again, I dont know what stepping can do this besides 0550 VPMW.

I am at 3gighz with 1.52vcore prime stable on air, and I have a WEAK core0.

I was prime stable on core1 at 3.1gighz w/ just 1.45vcore. This core0 is REALLY holding me back


Anyway, my advice is ignore this dude and find yourself 0550 VPMW!

I will take picture of my processor shortly.

I can't believe the difference of replies on here and on AT, including PMs. I'm so sorry that I started this thread here. I really, really do not understand people who think I'm trying to "sell" this chip. If that's the case, what's the point of not-telling the stepping? Regardless of the stepping, a chip is a chip and a clock is a clock. Even if it's known to be a :banana::banana::banana::banana:ty stepping, it does what it does, then that's what it is, no?

If you really think I'm trying to sell this chip for high price, then go ask an AT member "******" who purchased a 148 and a 144 hardware from me. I sold a 148 CABYE 0540FPBW (3GHz @1.48V Air) and a 144 CACJE 0546APBW (2.88GHz @1.52 Air) for total $330. Like many of you, I don't OC to sell the chips at high price. It'd be quite a counter-productive business, don't you think?

I said I would post in a few days, with my observation in general on performance tendency among different steppings/substrates/batch #s of Opterons (single, dual) Why are you so impatient? And why calling me a name? I see some of the members here bragging about their results with suspicious screenshots with stepping information. Compared to those, my screenshots are honest, and I'm trying to analyze the information I've gathered from my chips and others. I WILL post my obervation in a few days.

Thanks for correcting my original post. I copied wrong addresses and didn't bother to upload them again. (Imageshack should change their system, really)

I'm trying to give something back, but these people are incredibly impatient. I sort of knew it from a few instances (like, if someone buys a chip, expecting an OC result within hours), but I never personally experienced it before.

I'm a very relaxed person and OC'ing is not a race for me. I like to take/enjoy my time and it was never a problem @AT. I guess it's AT for hobbiests, and XS for competitors...

thanks for being honest, if you're truly doing some research and wanted to gather some good stepping, add CCBWE 0550 UPMW to your list, see if you can get your hands on some of them....mine has no problem doing 2.9 on air.

It's my board that's holding back this chip. My board becomes instable past HTT 335, and it won't even boot from 340. As a matter of fact, does anyone know which board will give the highest HTT in average?

Awesome job on the clocks, we are here to share, learn and hopefully break some records while we are at it.

Dont forget to add the 0546SMPW to your list, it seems to be just as strong as the 0546XPMW from what I have tested.

And the 0550UPMW isnt bad either.

The 0530TPMW and 0550VPWM are the only two I have personally been able to take to 3gighz.
Here is my experience.

Opteron 175 0530 TPMW was sold to Florance on XS, he seemed to be doing well with it, havent heard from him in a bit
Opteron 170 0530 TPMW 1.55vcore 3gighz under water
Opteron 165 0534 SPMW 1.55vcore 2.75gighz air
Opteron 175 0546 SPMW 1.55vcore 2.9 on air
Opteron 170 0546 XPMW 1.55vcore 2.9 on air
Opteron 170 0550 VPMW 1.52vcore 3.0 on air
Opteron 165 0550 UPMW Unknown... MB is giving me anger problems. so far 2.8, highest FSB mobo will allow, switching mobos and testing now.

Now you all know my opteron stories.

Attached you'll find the Socket 939 Opterons' (single- and dual- core) steppings/substrates/batch #'s information I've gathered from the chips that I've personally owned, and collected randomly over the net. I don't think I will carry this project on any more because of my general loss of interest in Socket 939 Opterons. (meaning no more impulse-buy)

Most of the old DFI mb's wouldn't clock past 335. My first Ultra-d's stopped at about 335. The ADO's I got on rma or bought will all go 400+.

My AB0 does at least 350 clean...never actually tried higher...I'll give it a go now I suppose...

Anyway, if your board is holding you back dude...that should really be a priority to upgrade, especially with that gem.

I don't think so, my DFI baby SLI-DR (one year ago) could pass 450-460HTT :D .
