i just got my zippy installed yesterday and it is rock solid. i highly reccomend this psu.
The only problem with my Zippy 700W, apart from the noise, is that it doesn't run my DFI SLI-DR with the jumper set for 4.0 Vdimm.
No matter what voltage is set in the BIOS, if the jumper is in that position the overload protection kicks in.
Have a look at this:Quote:

Got my Zippy 700W unit recently and it's great. Very loud, but still great. I modified it a bit already, using Hipro's guide. Now I can change 12V, 5V and 3.3V with potentiometers from outside the case, at the front of the PSU. Also soldered in some more power cables (my unit was a special server version for Tyan servers) and will do a fan mod soon. This thing is the best, and heaviest, PSU that I ever owned.
And guess what, it only cost me ~38$ (30,-EUR), because someone sold it on eBay and noone noticed what it was and that it's worth more than 200$. :) Sometimes I really like eBay and what I like even more is being really lucky from time to time. :)
The good thing is when you go to DDR2 the problem is gone.:DQuote:

that thing is godamn huge seeing it in a case.
i might take another though on trying to procure one now lol
Some poeple need to remember one thing when replacing the standard fan the PSU came with. Emacs/Zippy used such a high speed fan for a reason! You can't just take any slower spinning fan and use that.Quote:

But you need two to make up for the weaker airflow per single fan (push-pull constellation needed).
As I said, you may not run into any problems with one weaker fan as long as you don't fully load the PSU. But once you do, it'll strike back if you're unlucky.
ok so it has the x 6p in pcie connectors
but how many molex? and SATA aswell
at psu needs at least 6 molex imo or its crap
anyone? and this thing sure doesnt look crap..the site isnt very informative on connections.
2-Floppy Type connectors, 8 Molex connectors, 4 SATA connectors, 3 6-pin connectors, 2 8-pin connectors, 1 4-pin connector, and 24-pin connector on PSL-6850P

Pics not working. Window opens with nothing there.
i'm liking the sleeving on those connectors.
i'm trying to order a PSL-6850 from zippy canada however, my email with info has gone unoticed at their offices.
its good to hear so many quality refered comments on these units.
Hopefully it'll be money well spent.
