And how much are these rare coffin boxes, capacitors, and cables costing the end user might I ask? I say they should change the capacitors and call it a new revision Expert and charge a little more for it. But thats only if the different caps provide a ton more stability/overclockability than the current Expert.

To me, I can see saying that the Expert is the 2nd generation as many changes were there, but cant say the Venus is a true 3rd generation board as the only real change are the capacitors.

I doubt the new caps would do much. Probably help at alot higher voltages.

To calculate the number of phases, you need to use your eyes. The first gen NF4 has three big heatsinks besides the socket. Beside that, is the R60 chokes (3 of them) therefore you got 3 phase.

Jimi, i don't see another inductor or anything. I'm just seeing a few things re-arranged like another said. Same amount of components.

To the guy that said DFI need similar to ASUS 8 phase power and asked what 4+4 meant; I think the first 4 are used for normal voltage control option, the extra 4 are ONLY used when you enable the extra voltage option (up to .2v).

Kiwi, all caps are low ESR on boards these days as far as i know. You know it's like that type of marketing, where the superior product has the same thing (in this case Low ESR), but they don't mention it on the older generation, to pull people in. Only difference is they are of higher quality(solid)

is it still going to be a limited edition?
or are we all going to be able to buy them?

Hmmm....doesn't seem like much of an upgrade over the expert. Looks more like a collectors board than an actual hardware improvement. I can't see the caps making much of a difference....if any at all.

Smells like a marketing hype board.

Isn't showing pictures of a product without any benches just marketing hype?

I agree on the chipset cooler. The ones being released on these boards as well as many other companies like my Asus A8N-SLI are just garbage.

I took off the stock cooler, modified and re-drilled some holes on my old Vantec Iceberq 4 GPU cooler, so it fits the board and it works amazingly. FAR FAR better than the stock cooler.

I went for water cooling in the chipset and im soo gald i did.

I just have a stock AMD heatsink on there with the stock amd fan. Whenever the chipset hits 45C i have the fan spin at 1000 rpm which is completely silent. It spins up for about 10 seconds and then turns off again, does this every few minutes. Its really the perfect solution i think.

Just got it, I am still trying. First impression is the OC ability is better.
Ultra-d brought the TCCD limitation. EXPERT unleash the BH5/UTT.
What Venus Brings? Let’s wait for it.

EXPERT has weak compatibility with TCCD. Cannot reach DDR550~600 with some memories.

Venus really solves some previous issues. Bringing the OC surprise again.

Fine gift box and 1000 limited output globally. Maybe will be hard to buy it...

Do you think the improved handling of TCCD is a design solution or a BIOS solution? One obviously can't use an Expert BIOS with other nF4 boards, but what do you think of using the Venus BIOS on an Expert?

It is not the same lay out for expert&venus

First, cant view any of those pcitures.

Second, fixing a compat issue does not mean better overclocks. Compat and performance are not linear relationships.

I can do pretty close to DDR600 2.5-3-8-3 1:1 1T as it is with my TCCD, and they arent the monster sticks that many people have. Granted if the board allows DDR600 1T with 2GB - that would be nice as many people are moving to 2GB sets.

One thing I dont get is that a motherboards compat issues with specific ram is not hardware driven as much as it is a bios revision issue. The chipset did not change, nor did the layout, on the Venus board. So why all of a sudden does it supposedly work "better" with TCCD than previous nF4 DFI boards? This certainly has nothing to do with the capacitors and a fancy box.

I am a big supporter of DFI, love the 2 Experts I have bought, but I want to see someone here without bias do a hardcore test on it before I can accept that some how its a better board than the Expert.

I don't see any real difference in tccd performance from expert. I run my corsair 4400c25 (tccd) @ 300, 1-1, 2.5-4-3-7 since day one and i've seen other people doing it as well...

WWM use imageshack/photobucket instead.

Looks like an undervolt issue. Not that this is a true problem as long as its known. My Expert does not seem to have this problem for either Vcore or DRAM.

Is there any reason to get this over the expert? How much more of an OC are we talking windwithme? Maybe the caps work under low temps like -100c or something.
