I wondered about active cooling, so i got my Fluke 52 out...

Opty 148 @ 3.0Ghz
11 x274 2-3-3-6 3.15v

Air temp 15c
Case temp 20c
Temp of ram 22c

ram temp was taken under the heatspreader next to the IC...

i see no need for active cooling. :woot:

what do you mean by 'next to the IC'? on the PCB?

could you measure the HS temp?

Is dangerous a voltage of 3V-3.1V on this RAM or not ???
I Can set it to 270x10 CAS 2-3-3-6 with my OPTERON 146....Or 285 CAS 2.5-4-4-8......Are they a good Ram ???

What chip have their at the end ??? Mosel ??

The timings 2.5-4-3-7 are difficult to obtain around 280MHZ ???

they're looking similar to Hynix, so it could be ProMOS ICs.

Yes I bet on Hynix too, it looks just like some D43 bit a little bit better, maybe just a new rev D43

possible... just checked Hynix website, rev. E of their 32M×8 ICs is listed there.

sry i should have explained...
i put the probe under the headspreader (between the spreader and the PCB), in the spaces between the ICs.

that make much more sence?

the outside of the heatspreader was 21.8 iirc

Hynix D43-i don't think so.I think i could run those babes at 280Mhz 2-3-3-7 1T-->just need little time to tweak.No one Hynix D43 or TCCD can run at such timings/speed (at price twice cheaper than TCCD).Anyway i will try to proove my words :stick:

If they are not like TCCD, that would be awesome. But one thing is, seems like these don't scale as well as TCCD? I mean TCCD goes quite a distance from trcd of 3 to 4. You did 2-3-3 at 270, and 300 at 2.5-4-4... with quite a bit of volts too.

Maybe a good replacement for TCCD, but would it be a worthy successor?

My best results with TCCD were 2.5-4-3 at 300MHz and 2.50v. If you can best those timings, I am there.

How much do you pay for good TCCD sticks ??
These sticks are dirt cheap and still performing great !!

Price/performance wise these are prolly better than TCCD

I push them up to sweet 278 Mhz 2-3-3-7 1T 3.1v with my new Opty 148
Those babies is something between legendary BH-5 and TCCD
They like the tight timings and 3.0+ volts like BH-5 and high FSB's like TCCD

Well, How much you paid for your TCCD? 200USD atleast.
Those GeIL 500 cost me 150 USD only.
