Just so you know Kyle, Dumo is not one to shy away from volts ;) He's had a lot of experience with running high voltages and as a result, he's very good at handling it. Tbh, I don't recommend you follow his lead until you get a little more experience with temps and how to control them. Just don't wanna see you kill that gem of a 60 by a freak accident........

Thanks for looking out for me, Stephen. I'll stay under 1.65V as I have been doing. That's not too much is it?

I am definitely a novice with phase and controlling temps.

By the way, for those of you who are wondering if the opties will come out with FX-60 steppings, I just picked up a DC Opteron 170 0550 UPMW. I will post results as soon as I get the processor in. I got it from Dave Graham over at flicker down and he only had two. The other one was already spoken for. I got lucky twice, lol, because it also happens to be retail, the oems he got were 4 0546 XPMW's.

@ Dynasty: Let us know how those steppings work out for you b/c I might have to get one if they're good. I'm going to see what steppings I can get my hands on. I'll report back if they're anything new.

I asked because I am delving into cascade land soon and wanted to know why you said what you said. I would hate to buy a cpu and not be able to use my new cooling power. I am trying to figure out what steppings I need to look into getting, not to mention playing catch up with guys like Dumo who have a ton of cascade knowledge versus myself.

NP....you'll have issues with any of the current stepping FX60's. But, looking @ your sig, it looks as if you have a very interesting 3500+ cpu. It's a clawhammer so it shouldn't have a cold-bug. Is that a 939 pin? If so, do you have a pic? Sorry about the OT....

Kinda bored with this single stage runs:) ..I will slap it with -90C and if I'm lucky it will at least post @ stock.
Anyone know how to change to MPS multi procs? It keep asked for drivers, shoul I extract it from windows install cd?

MPS won't heat your cpu though...you need to stick with ACPI multiproc

@ Dumo: Let us know how it handles the cascade. I think you'll be the first on board to put it under those temps.

I need to get back to work on getting my LS up and running. Just finished troubleshooting my Expert and it's dead (going to try 8 hour reset, but I don't expect miracles.)

I hope we can all get our hands on a golden 60 I know these chips can do more. I think 3.8+ no problem w/o coldbug.

Edit: Did you guys hear that the FX60's prices are going down on the 25th?

So they're ok with single stage? I just want to know if that's generally true... looks like it might be. No point getting one if it seizes above -40C or so, that would just be grief.

They are coming from overseas, malaysia.
