ben have you tried benching past 3.2GHz.....that's a great CPU..........what are you load temps like at the new vcore
OK I pooped the top on my 170 and it lowered idle and load temps 5c. I am running at 2870 completley stable at 1.54v for my day to day settings and I am benching at 2790 at 1.64v. I love this chip!.

I agree. I have a 2Gb of GSkill HZ that I brought over from my overclocked Venice so I already knew the limits of the sticks and at which particular timings. When I put them together with my 170 Opteron, the saming timings were fine all the way up until 2.6Ghz. I had to adjust the drive strength settings, whilst keeping all other timings the same, to get 2.6Ghz stable and beyond :)Quote:
