Does even the X1600's have software changable voltage period? Thought that was just a X1800 feature.
But wow running .85V amazing hehe. Then again with less pipes it doesn't need nearly as much power to run at similar speeds as the others.

perk said software voltmodding was possible.
I have a feeling the dude with the wc for his x1600xt will need to raise votls to see any real improvement.
Not everything I say should be taken as fact :p:Quote:

got the x1600xt, its sitting in front of me. infineon 1.4ns ram. will do a driverclean and install the card within the hour. I cant put it on water until saturday/monday when my new northbridge block gets here from sharka.

The core is defaintly the hardest to find the sweet spot.Quote:

whoever has a x1600xt, go get a copy of atitool beta for the x1800's to oc , and get the software for voltage changes use don the x1800's as well, tell us if it does indeed change the voltage.
sites have gotten 650mhz at stock volts o nthis core, I hae a feeling this thing iwll oc better than its x1800xt big brother.
getting ati tool .25 b10 right now, will do an air OC ASAP
ok guys, heres my first run results on air:
645/801 = no artifacts 65c idle/fan 100%
645/810 = minor artifacts
650/801 = minor
660/801 = allot of artifacts
This core gets HOT. it idles at 53c and loads at 68c with this stock reference cooler. With the fan on 100% (loud as hell) it idles at 50c and loads at 65c.
The ram seems to be hitting its limits around 800-810 and the core on air around 660~ give or take. SO hopefully on water I can keep it under 60c for some 700 core action, we'll see tommorow hopefully if USPS can get my package here in two days.
piccies a must :) Also, have you tried increasing the volts ? If the mem isn't overheating, it may well have more headroom.
Perkam
wow sounds too hot :-/
the mem is warm to the touch, i can keep my finger on it forever without burning myself, at 800.Quote:

and there she is beside my old asus 6800
Its Infeneon video memory. It never OC will in the past and looks like the same now.Quote:

what are the stock volts for your gpu and mem?

Ya what ya running your mem voltage at? Or is it default?? Impresive on the mem speed though.
some serious voltage mod is required :D
with a good water cooler and a decent volts (1.48 V as the 1800xt ) this card with a few pipes can reach awesome clocks
I have no idea, default i guess. Ati tool has nowhere to change either core or mem voltage.Quote:

I can't get the 5.12's from ati to work on my x800p either :( sucks too cause seems you get very large boosts with 5.12 (x1600xt) try installing through device manager
5.12's blow.. the controll center gives me an error everytime on my X700Pro,
I even reformatted...
the only way i could make it work was to use the alternative downloads and get one with the previous controll panell
