Mine went up alittle...before if I set clocks at 700 without changing voltage it locked instantly...
Ok ive downloaded the BIOs from here:
http://www.hardforum.com/showthread....post1028681248
Says it's Sapphire one. SO how exactly do i flash? Ive never flashed a Video ard BIOS BTW.
It is super easy. Run the ATIwinflash utility. When it comes up the first thing I would do is save your current bios just incase via the save button. After that check off force, load the image file in the same directory as the atiwinflash utility and hit program. About 3 seconds later your done. Oh yea, reboot when it asks you and voila.
Yup as said...super easy!
What utility?
Upgrade To X1800XT OC for free ? With more oc headroom???!!! ...has ATI gone cukoo ???Quote:

It's only a three page thread hicks...first pages had ze "goodies" :)Quote:

Can anyone else confirm this... eva2000 get this BIOS and start testing! HAHA
Can you guys post a step by step for me on how to exactly flash it, i don't want anything going wrong, which file do you use.
I should disable my CCC overclock as well i take it?
worked fine for me, on bbati card...using the included atiwinflash....
Just download the BIOS File.
With that download comes the Utility to Flash it.
Run the Utility and first as a precaution click "Save" and it will save the Original BIOS for you.
Then Click "Load" and select the file located in the BIOS Folder and give it a few seconds after that and it will flash:D
Mine looked alittle screwed up when it flashed it but then it flashed black again and screen came back. And asked me to restart. Restart and thats it. Instant upgrade.
NEWS:
I also just got 34,450 at only 700/800 too :D
hmm nice it increased clocks... guys anyone try flashing back to original bios and see if you keep the new increased clocks or go back to previous max clocks ?
Flashed my Connect3D X1800XT, no problems at all but I noticed an voltage jump when you in 3D mode , pix below
http://img121.imageshack.us/img121/9...xtoc1ra.th.png
update: just measured the vcore during 3Dmark01 run and my DMM showed 1.44v so the new bios deffo increase the voltage, that would explain why you get higher OC after flash :D
So this new BIOS has automatic voltage adjustment based on requirement?
Wow, that is crazy. This will be like, go as high as you can and the BIOS will give more voltage accordingly (and will not go above a certain limit of course).
I want one for the X1800XL :p
heh, This really makes me want to get an X1800XT now.

But with this BIOS i dont have to disable the ATI services, and i can OC with 3d clocks now. if i try to oc the 2d it crashes. kinhda nice to be able to do that:)
But i dont think i will stick to this BIOS. i realy dont like the voltage bumb:(
A bit off topic but in regards to SIOUX's post above I recently did a fresh WinXP SP2 install and the latest 5.12 ATI drivers and I dont have to kill any ATI services to overclock and change voltages. Also I can set clocks in 3d mode and have no problem setting volts with either overclocking programs, ATI Tool or the other one(dont remeber the name). And this is with my original bios, not flashed!Quote:

hmm....i just found out that with catalyst 5.11 the new OC bios works like a charm with the ati services disabled, and i can clock the 2d clocks again.
but if i use catalyst 5.12 i CANT use the 2d. and my temps go skyhigh if i try to set the 2d´s....very strange. but as i said...i just switched to 5.11 and everything is fine:)
I mentioned even before this bios flash that I thought the card automatically adjusts voltage according to load as I had ATI Tool open on my second monitor while benching and it went from 1.275 to 1.375 on its own. I guess this new bios goes even higher into the 1.4v+ range. Pretty cool how programmable and smart this new chipset is. I hope all this stays in the R580 and then some.
Dam, surely this new BIOS increases temps loads? I can run 700/800 without extra volts, so i don't want extra volts.
A bios editor would be nice! Anyone? Bueller?:DQuote:
