Damn! this does really works! thanx
gonna try this after work and post back some results:D gotta find the test points to read the voltage though. off to the search button.
auto detect prior 1.5v mod: 485/1130
auto detect after 1.5v mod: 513/1180
i must say this is proof enough for me:D
So I tried it with gtx 256 mb, core VID in riva tuner show me 3,0 but it doesnt help me in oc, maybe it was worse oc. Can somebody post me bios with 1,5V for 7800gtx 256mb? maybe I did something wrong. I know you write that it dosnt work for 7800 gtx but I think that it have to work if it work gt .-D
New version nbitor makes it even easier!

Is somebody able to do it on 7800 gtx 256mb?? THERE MUST BE WAY!!!!
done that 2weeks ago... worked like a charm
Gainward 7800GT (non golden sample)
before 1.5V mod: 460-470max Vcore
after 1.5V mod: 490 Vcore (i think it can go higher) bu i have stock cooling
This mod worked on my XFX 7800 GT.
Before mod:
Booting - 1.2v
Windows Idle - 1.2v
3D Mode - 1.4v
After mod:
Booting - 1.2v
Windows Idle - 1.4v
3D Mode - 1.52v
Coolbits detected 460MHz before mod, 500MHz after mod. Simply awesome :D
And WHAT GTX????????????????? :-DDD(((((
xneom0rph what do u use for cooling?
Zalman FS-V7 Fatal1ty
So, the voltage change doesn't work on the GTX, but do other things like changing the clocks permantly work?
Ok, guys i just installed my new XFX 7800GT without mod in coolbits: 520Mhz/ 1.19Gh:toast:
Would XFX now apply this voltage by default?
Looks like you have a really good card there. Make the mod and se how far it can go!
with 1.55v bios mod i can only get 510/1310. 1.5v got me 500/1310. Should i try 1.6 ?? this is on water and so far max temp has been 36C
How do you get 1,55v? I have only succeded with 1,5v.Quote:

EDIT : Nm 500/1310 is the best i can get. For some reason riva tuner does not display my corevid.. how do i enable this??
EDIT2: Ok i got the new version, but it says 6.0v on dimensional.. wtf?
NiBitor did not recognize my BIOS. and i already get light artifacts (VSync type tearing) in BF2, still doubting wether to install my V700Cu since this card already idles at 39c and after 4 hours of BF2 only is 43c... My previous card (XFX 6800) was much hotter.Quote:

By applying just a voltage bump you can kick this up to 500/1200 true? I just hope this thread is still alive, i'll report back when i get my GT, thanks.
Just edited my 7800GT without any problems. :)
Overclock test before 470/1.09Ghz and after 499/1.19Ghz. I'm still using the stock cooler that comes on the XFX card but I have replaced the thermal mess of theres with AS5 which dropped idel temps by 7C.
Now I'm off to see how high I can really get.
EDIT:
Well after playing F.E.A.R for just 10 mins I started to get artifacts @ 500/1.19. Checked my core temp ant it was at 69C! Looks like I'll have to see about getting an aftermark cooler for my card.
got a good 20Mhz max GPU OC out of this little trick. Good stuff!
This is how my settings should be, right?
