I would deff use OCZ 2.5 2 2 kits standard for every build that didn't require OC'ing. Fry's has patriot for 200 bucks though, unless u guys stay in the 200-230 range I don't think they will be competitve.

We just announced them yesterday...it will take approx 2 weeks for retailers to get stock in...we are working as fast as possible :)Quote:

Any chance I can get a set to test seeing as I am the operator of the 2x1GB OC Database that has gathered 2x1GB kits so much fame as of late? ;)
wildfire sells? :( jkQuote:

@bigtoe,
That possible 2.5-2-2-6 PC3200EB part would have to be much cheaper than PC4000EB then, considering the latter would probably reach PC4000 than 2.5-3-2-6, right? Would make a kicka$$ "value" part, then... ;)
We are pondering whether to release it, the issue is price Vs performance.
Meaning, how much you can charge for the performance and still sell. I think releasing a low latency set would go down very well, whether or not it scales that high, as youll have all the non overclockers and oem's in the market for straight rated performance ram.Quote:

Just for Bachus....I tweaked my 32M time down just a bit ;) :woot:

This looks like some really nice memory guys. My only concern is that the ocz pc4000 2gb kit is already priced higher than the ballistix. This kit would of course be even more. I will pay more if the product really stands out. I am building a dothan rig right now with the p4gpl-x. It only has two ddr slots so I will be getting a 2gb kit for it of course. I want a 230 - 240fsb kit that will run cl2. That I would pay extra for.
UCCC cost more than these ICs....I imagine the UCCC line will be taken down or something.
EDIT: Or they've held back the good UCCC that can do over DDR600 and these are all the scraps ($330 scraps, heh).
if this is gonna be 300 bux then how you gonna sell the other pc4000 kit that goes for like 330+

ROLL BLUNTS
What is the performance difference in gaming compared to lets say the PC3200 2-3-2-5 2x1G kit. Couple fps?
Just curious, I am about to make the 2x1g leap.
Has anyone else tried call od duty 2? Im wondering if you need 2 gigs for this liek you do for battlefield and this ram could fill my need nicely
i agree.. plus, OCZ needs to get rid of all the parts that don't make the ddr500 platinum bin somehow :toast:Quote:

That's a good question...Quote:

Your lack of performance difference is for other reasons....namely that 1.5 is actually slightly slower than 2 (it's not truly 1.5) and tras 0 isn't noticably faster than tras 5.Quote:

It's not Micron and it's not Infineon be-5....
It's a known entity that is well binned :D
I saw this post over at hardocp from a Mushkin RND guy:
"We belive that OCZ is using higly binned Infineon BE-5 for those chips as we have seen similar peformance from the more recent batches. Infact I'd say we are almost certian that is the case."
