I was only expecting 2.6... If the 4800+ is sitting 2.4, why would there be a 600mhz leap for the 5000+ PLUS ddr2?... Generally, AMD only goes up 200mhz for each model increase, this time it's 270, which is a bit of a jump higher than normal.Quote:

whatever they would call it, i think thats the main thing holding them back, not to mention that the x2 4800 is pretty unmatched right now, so why not wait until intel comes up with a competitor, and then bam, intel is in second once again.
if AMD came out with a dual core FX processor there regular FX would definatly take a hit in profits and be phased out IMO but then again i am just getting my feetwet with amd have been a big fan of Xeons for the past almost year
why sell a high clocked and low yield x2 at fx prices when you can get away with selling a die half the size and thus both cheaper and higher yield for fx prices? the fx's will move to dual core when people stop buying single cores - then there will be $1500 dual core fx's at a premium over the already more than fx57 priced 4800+ x2.
