OPP, just curious on any other timings in the BIOS?
Im at 223 @ 2-2-2-4 @ 100% on the 8RDA+, and am seeing nowhere near your results (3300/3100ish).

do you use multiplier under 10?
if yes this is the reason for your perfromance drop!!!
all 8rda bios version have poor performance with multiplier under 10.
in sandra you loose 150mb's if you use multiplier under 10!!!
try it for yourself and run some fsb's with multiplier 10 and 9,5 and you will see what imean!!!
under 10?!!?!
been using 9.0 - 9.5
FARK =(
Is your mem set to aggressive? If not do that for sure.
This setting makes only 50/60mb/s. Nowhere near the speed increase its supposed to be.Quote:

I tested 9.0, 9.5, 10.0 and 10.5x 200mhz FSB (aggressive settings, 2-2-2-4), and the multiplier problem is not there at all. Theres little to no difference in the results that could not be put down to a slower/faster CPU.
I think agressive is just cpu fast decode on the epox. It may be that the Abit, as usual, is tuned a bit higher on timings than the epox. I have the 8rda+ as well and it just seems to me that the dual channle setup is highly unpredictable and prone to timing caused corruption and hardware failure when overclocking, compared to single channel. This may be why Via has now said that 400a will not be dual chan. capable. Are you using the c16 epox bios?
Using c05 (off aoa forums).
Sinnah,
There is one thing in the ABit softmenu, it has optimal or aggressive, it's for cpu/fsb performance. Not sure if this made any difference in the score but other then that there isn't much else to tweak besides timings.

I want DCDDR action :D
Is the board a keeper or not? -
Also, is there any word on a new bois release?
The NF7 Died :(Quote:

No clue as to why, it just stoped booting. I have another on the way and see if it will Stay running at the high FSB.

How many versions are they releasing of this board? The NF7, NF7-S... and I thought I read something about NF7-M or something? I know it was a third one... I know NF7 doesn't have all the integrated features, but what does the third one have? Also, how many IDE to SATA cables do they include in the box? I need 2. If there isn't 2, where can I pick up another one? I'd like to keep my WD drives in RAID 0.
It only comes with one. You can get a second one here:Quote:

$25? that's high
NF7-M is the one with nForce IGP, which has onboard graphics.
I think $25 is a little bit high, but consider other nForce 2 motherboards that have SATA onboard do not even include ONE.
Hey Abit Marketing, when can we expect the boards with holes? And do you have any word on a bios with better voltages?
No words of BIOS with better voltages yet.. I believe they are still working on it.
The HOLY version SHOULD be here around early January. I am sorry that's all I know so far. :(
Darn, was hoping for an inside scoop, hehe. Another question, is there going to be any difference between the holy version and the non-holy version besides that? Any fixes or updates to the physical part of the board that can't be fixed with the BIOS?
Has anyone in here actually done the vmods for this board yet? I hear all kinds of different stories on this...from nasty to cake.
Well Iv'e done the v-core and it's simple 6301 mod. Works great.Quote:

The v-mem is like the BE7, there is a guy that has done it successufully already.

I'll be doing it on my next board.

 3.24 vmem
im waiting till after the holiday season to pick mines up
Got mine up and running. :) Awsome board!! Besides the voltages, this mobo is f#$king sweet.
I set it up, popped in my 2400+, set it to 200x11 and she booted right up. At 200fsb and tight timings it pushed over 3100/2900. But cant do much more with 2.7v :(. Im using XMS3000. Time for some new RAM. ;)
Im using the IDE channels and having no probs as of yet(only been up to 210fsb tho), everything works good and the onboard sound is nice.
But anyway time for bed.:slobber:
*sigh* And yet another Abit board dies an unknowningly death as so many others have before it. Rock on Abit!Quote:

and joins the host of other nforce 2 boards that have done the same...
Ok I couldnt sleep ;).
Anyways the multi's are kinda whacked. Im using a 2400+ and so far i can use 15-11 multi. 10.5, 10 and 9.5 will not load into windows. However 9 will. I havent tried anything lower then 9 or higher then 15.
