I've built him a computer for a Radio Station - playing music - (Pentium 4 of caurse :D ) and he bought me this....... :)

Count me in as another dothan fan. Have a buddies 730 533fsb sitting here. We messed around w/ some Dry ICE on it. And started getting it stable in the low 3.0 - 3.2 ghz range.
P4c the ct479 thing and p4p800s bios flash. No mods, no windows tweaks. And it was pretty damn fast.
Had i think poor contact on the face of our tube. I dropped it off yesterday at a machine shop to get it faced off for another run.
Awsome job Kingpin. Looking forward to your next run with LN2. After reading alle the posts here on XS about the Dothan, I converted back to the Dark Side myself a couple of weeks ago. I went from a 2.7GHz Venice to a 2.8GHz Dothan, and ain't going back :D The funniest thing is when I made the switch, I also ended up with alot of change. Oh well, can always use it on beer's :toast2:
Hey, let me put a downer on things as people are getting far too carried away and hysterical over Dothan, everyone will be buying Rubiks cubes, CB radios and ipods before you know it :) ....
I'm sorry, but in regards to 3d benching I do not rate Dothan at all, there is a saying too little, too late but in the case of Dothan it is too much, far far too late. Unless anyone knows of an SLi Asus 865/875 motherboard or that nvidia and Ati are going to cancel r520 or G70 ;)
Dothan will be the biggest flash in the pan there has ever been, I'm afraid, in regards to 3dmark, not becuse of itself but because it has a motherboard so old it is made of wood and bronze.
However,it is a good pointer to the future for Intel, but it will be sometime yet I think before the FX platform is threatened. At present it is better suited to running superpi.
I'm pretty sure k|ingp|n can grab 2001 though as a first and last hurragh for the chip ..good luck.

Thanx for all the congratz and kind words everyone....Gonna take another stab at the #1 01' score hopefully late tonight after work with the x850.
Also can't wait to see what some of you guys can do with these chips in 01'. They really are amazing, especially for the price.

Thats why I stay away from Intel and thats why amd remains the cpu of choice(nevermind those noobs with Dells)for almost everything, especially gaming. Dothan is a fine cpu but not ready for prime time and its nitch is limited such as good for 3dmark and all but for games and 64 bit, its a64 :) anyway hows your score comming out guys? anyone else break at least 40k?
Had a rough night benching...well sort of.
Started off with some pi and I managed to get the cpu stable at almost 3565mhz for benching pi, so I said :banana::banana::banana::banana: it, Im going for it and threw my x850 on and dropped the temps on the card quick. Never even got one 01' run off, as I lost my win2k HD for benching 01'. So went to backup plan and switched over to xp drive for some 03' and 05' benching, and here is what I managed to get before the board shut down due to MASSIVE condensation:

If I had been only able to run 01' at these clock speeds.......so close.

That sucks about the board. You already killed one right? What are you doing for insulation? Have you tried lots of foam and seran wrap? Its messy as hell and ugly but it should work :p:
