Has anyone successfully booted up at 200FSB with a 400FSB Dothan? I can't get past 165 in windows no matter what multi, have tried 6x up to 16x. :confused:

I an get to 168 using clockgen in windows and a 15 multi but no higher with a 1.6 400fsb and 1.6v.
glad it's not just me but shame they wont go higher.
What Mobo are you running ? i tested p4p800,p4p800-vm and p4p800-e all with the same results. None of them will allow both multi and fsb to be changed in the bios.
I did see a bios version 1007.001 for p4p800-e that had multi but no vcore in bios cant find it though only 1007.003 does anyone have this bios ?

If I buy a P4P800-SE will it work with a dothan + adapter right out of the box?
Im wondering if you guys are flashing the boards to get more OC'ing options or to get the dothan to work period. As in do I have to put in a P4 when I first get the board to flash the board to a bios that will make it support the dothan?

For those curious, the AOpen 915GM motherboard allows you to alter the CPU multiplier downwards from the default CPU multiplier, and you can also adjust front side bus frequencies in 1 MHz increments. You can also manually set DDR timings and frequencies (although frequency selection does not appear to work at this time). However, the board does not allow for overvolting the CPU or the DDR memory modules, so it will not be a terrifically great overclocking platform.
This question maybe old but....
I own dothan chips. Is there absolutely no way to change the multiplier without using the windows multi change program?? I want to be able to change it in BIOS and the multi stays where I want. Or do you have to use the windows utility to change it every time when you boot to desktop... because i don't like doing that. :slapass:

does anyone know if the CPUMSR multiplier changer works for with the P4C800-E?
If I'm not mistaken, a BIOS change may allow it, but at this time, ASUS AIN'T helping... and noone can figure out how to mod the BIOS to allow it :(Quote:

I think cpumsr will work on any board as it programs the multi in the dothan chip not the boards.Still would be nice to confirm that.

I also think that the xp90 may be adaptable... will have to get my mitts on one. (the si-97 looks usable too)
