The term "Cold booting" is rather ambiguous, as people have referred to it as:
1) Booting after long periods of being off
2) Booting when sub-zero (though this should be referred to as a below-0 boot issue or something)

only 3.2v vdimm... back at cebit when i saw this board the first time i was told it would have up to 4v vdimm :(
I really hope this board is great. If it'll allow me to buy a venice or diego and keep my current setup it would be wonderful. If its as good as the 754 board I've got they've got at least one customer! :D
yea i was kinda expecting 3.2vdimm onlyQuote:

Been having to many problems with my Neo2 lately :stick:
I was referring to booting up after it being shut down for awhile/ overnight.
Not the cold bug of AMD.
I remember seeing a comparison review between AGP and PCI-E awhile ago and didnt seem too show much difference. Is there that big of a diff between NF3 and NF4? Really makes you think about getting this board when you can get an X850XTPE AGP for $530 less than the PCI-E version.
how wonder how msi would feel if they heard a crap load of msi neo2 users ditched their boards for this new one
well there's a nf4-4x for 754Quote:

I just can't understand how it can take them that long to release a 939 AGP board. It's come way too late and the only thing I can see it selling well is if they are priced well.
My guess is they have been working on fixing the temp issues with the vdimm derived from the 5v rail, have failed a long time thus delaying the board, and finally settle with 3.2vdimm max to get the board out.
Seems as if Abit figured a nice way of providing upto 3.5vdimm on their new AN8 without excess heat generated from the mosfets.
This vdimm battle is so nice.
I need 3.4vdimm without the need for active cooling, otherwise i go Dothan-amok!!!
won't tictac be able to mod the BIOS to allow for 4v dimm....isn't that what he did for the skt 754 nf3?
Yeah. His BIOS enables up to 4v VDIMM on the DFI Lanparty NF3 250gb socket 754
I certainly hope he can on this new board.
The phrase "a day late and a dollar short" comes to mind. They had over a year they "missed" out on while leaving users with suck arse products like MSI, EPOX..hell ABIT and ASUS did'nt even make a NF3 939. So most everyone already made move to platform with future, with PICe, NF4 if they don't already have a 939AGP board they happy with. Either way I can't see this being a hot seller no matter how good it is.
that's an even better phase:)Quote:
I think the ship has sailed on the need for this

yeah its gonna be out june/july just as the first gen non agp cards come out. my neo2 will last till then. also since the dfis seem to take a while to iron out the problems it could be a while till its worth having. hopefully if they make on the ati chipset dfi board wont be as late in the game as this.
this board better be flawless..........even the first revision
However...ATI has said Fudo will be released in both pciE and AGP. AGP isnt going anywhere soon folks.
Need more Vdimm, i hope Tictac can mod bios for 4Vdimm or maybe voltmod...
My Gigabyte NF3 939 is a pretty damn good overclocking board, you just need an OCZ memory booster for hard core stuff... DFI's are good boards but I think they are relying on their uber-fanboys to make this very late release successful. Either that or people with crappy MSI's and Epox 939 NF3. Only one guy has brought up the Gigabyte, don't forget those!
there are hundreds out there that will be getting this one
I agree...Quote:

But for those with high end AGP on SocketA it is great... they get to keep their current 20pin PSU and video card... only a board, CPU and HSF is required... not bad
I'm getting rid of all AGP related hardware and you folks should do the same ;)
Regarding this board I expect since its based on nforce3 to be alot more trouble-free than the freaking nforce4 based mobos..
the nf4 754 board doesnt have an agp slot afaik...
and tic tact enabled higher vdimm by unlocking those features, its not possible to provide that high vdimm on a board that isnt built for it.
it only works on boards that use the 5v rail to derive vdimm, and im sure thats what the new asus board does to get 3.5v :)
maybe dfi wont ever release that board... i think its too late for a 939 agp board...
I'd love to have one. Would make for a great folding platform.
With all these other options coming up now the only people I can see really going for a board like this are people like me who are fed up with their current NF3 939 option and want a decent board for their 939 chip.
I've been considering the fact that if they're going to take much longer that i'm gonna consider going to 754, with the only drawback I can see being a single-channel mem controller. Apart from that the DFI UT 754 board would be an ideal board for me.
