And about ZALMAN ZM-NB47J?

I MUST change chipset cooler ... with DFI stock cooler at 300x8 I reach 53°-54° :(

I have an ASUS AX800XL and the DFI Ultra-D mobo and the clearance between the chipset and the card is basically 0! The card is touching the chipset fan and sometimes it'll make those weird noises, like when you put your finger in a spinning fan. If the card isn't mounted correctly you could complete stop the chipset fan. So those out there that may be hearing that weird noise or notice you have high chipset temperatures, check to see how close your videocard is to the chipset fan because the fan could be stuck on the card. I really hope I don't have to do any modding to this thing so everything works nice.Quote:

But that will also not make a performance differnce try it out and you will see..they really dont NEED that much bandwidth...
Dragon
Just a small tid-bit, for those who don't know:
There is a measurable and real performance difference in SELECTED 3D apps between 8x and 16x PCI-E lanes.
In games this is rarely if ever visible, but in certain 3D apps the difference is there.
Just FYI.
What kind of 3D apps? 3D graphics apps?Quote:

That Artic cooling chipset looks awsome, probably will keep temps like 30ºC also!
3D Modelling (pro) apps, but yes some games also show the miniscule performance difference as written above by others:Quote:

Is vantec iceberg really better than the stock one????? The stock one looks more beefier.
My max chipset temp is about 45C, that's with room temp over 30C (summer in LA no AC, gotta love it) and under fool load (Prime95 Custom Blend)?
Ok...
MadMikeSS tried moving video card to the other slot and lost significant performance - so it's not worth it. Just finally ripped my rig apart today replaced the chipset cooler with the Vantec Iceberg. Chipset idle now is 34, load 39, about 10 deg lower - oh ya and used AS5 Tim (but I was using that with the stock chipset cooler too).
Anyways heres a look -

aua, and that is so cool' i like it a lot :toast:Quote:

They are supposivley better if they can fit.
Looks like very goodQuote:

It will help a bit, but get a cooler like my spire or the vantec iceberq4. It holds my chipset to ~35C with chipset @ 1.7V.Quote:

A small L shaped heatpipe solution that can be mounted in 3 different directions would solve all problems with heat and placement of chipset on any motherboard.
I was already doing that - wasnt any good.Quote:

Well theres two fingers to those who said it doesnt fit :p:Quote:

Its 2x. I thought I saw something in the manual that suggested there was a way to jumper the 2nd slot to 16x?Quote:
