Another ABIT K8 board without multi. adjustments on the initial BIOS. I wonder if it's hard to get it right.
I'm happy to read the Vcore is stable on this board... I'm not an extreme OCer but I care about that sort of thing.
Oddly i cant flash it in windows ill try force flashing in dos tommorrow. Gave a wrong part # error but i believe its more of a protection versus a security feature just keeps you from flashing the wrong bios to your board thats all. If this is the HIGH securtiy everyones talked about it should be simple to get around. Not to hard to edit the bioses part #.
What's the difference between the two bios'?
i think either ABIT hasnt enable that 2 features DDR&CPU Refvolt or they forgot to test it :slap:
well one thing we know from screenies is that an8 vanilla dont have 1.85 vcore option.Quote:

http://members.cox.net/italygirl25/abit.bmp Yes i just temporarily used it as my desktop to show it No Im not keeping it lol
HAHAHHHAHAAHA good one chew.
Ok got the day off from work, so about to do some more testing.
Firstly the board hates my tccd memory.
It refuses to run with my gig of twinmoss.
Everytime you switch out mem sticks you must clear the cmos.
I have a x800pro pcie card about to run some benchies.
AFAIK wasnt Abit supposed to impliment an overclocking BIOS that you had to DL from them <thus voiding your warrenty> I had head of such talks on OCforums, perhaps this explains it.
As for the boot screeen my AV8 does the same thing and I agree it looks like crap when you compare it to Epox and MSI.
Does anybody have this board at home ? Why you dont test it properly ? You still talk about bull:banana::banana::banana::banana:s. Write something about OC, voltages stability, mem supprots ... etc. I cant express, what i really want .. becouse my english is not very well :stick:
Read the thread from the beginning, I have given the voltages, stablity, and what it will oc to so far.Quote:

also picked up some twinmoss speed premium and got the ati silencer on the x800pro.
hummm !!!!
two fatal1tys .... and the two don´t like tccd, thats to bad.
bh5 do not solver the problem, the volt... don't make it higer :dammit:
you still cant flash your bios ????
hug'z
The AN8 was tested with a Winchester (1.4V default) and the Fatality with a NC (1.50V). I think it's very likely the max vcore depends on the CPU default.Quote:

We do know that ddr booster does not work at this time on an8 as to why not sure yet lets wait to see what OCZ says on that maybe a newer bios will work. As far as the bios goes its a backed up bios file from the fatality rom and does not belong to the an8 vanilla so it may take a mod to the bios to allow it to work. We really wont know till we actually get a AN8 bios and fatality AN8 bios from abit itself.Quote:

what will happen when they throw FX55 on this board?
might unhidden extra voltage as well... ?
If that is the case... what will happen if they throw in RAM with 3.3V default voltage
:hehe:
i ask OCZ about DDR Booster compitablity with AN8 Fatal1tyQuote:

No go on the booster, which really sucks.
Tried yesterday, using chew suggestion.
I got it to intially work, it said 2.8v same in thebios.
Then after I rebooted and tried to up volts the booster stayed at 2.8 regardless.
After that it just stopped working and gave me code 83. Which is save all data in bios back to stack.
Just started testing with some hyperx 3200 bh5.
You cannot use dimm3 and 4.
The computer will not boot.
You must use slots 1 and 2.
Running some benches at stock brb.
We are waiting for the results. :banana4:Quote:
