Its nice to know the temps work normally LOL as MSI and DFI

I am also sure this motherboard will be stable as a rock , coming from a IC7 MAX 3. The MSI Neo 2 PLat was plagued with issues , like stuttering and temp issues. Not a good board if you ask me. I would take the fatality over MSI Neo 4 or DFI

DFI is a poor mans board :)

Come off it bro, I love Abit and used a IC7-MAX3 for over a year, but, no matter what you want to argue, that board was plagued with poor voltage control and a great many BIOS issues. Remember VTT tracking???

Saying DFI is a poor mans board is a blatent lie. Abit is great, yes, I have used several in my life and wish nothing but the best for this new board. Talking of this DFI "Sudden death" is flat out immature. A few people have seen problems with it, but read around, just as many deaths with the Asus, Gigabyte, and MSI.

Why???

Because the NF4 is VERY sensitive to voltages. One slip up when installing a hard drive, and boom, death.

Dont try to bolster your own purchase by ragging on others.

Uhh... duh?

I'm not using a Vapochill system, plus I only consider overclocks stable if I can prime and superpi.

Following your posts on Hard for some time now I never see you post anything such as those in terms of stability.

Anyhow, I'm not saying the ABIT AN8 is not a great board, read back, I have already posted I am hoping for great things from this board.

I only took note of your blatent attack on the DFI without ANY proof that such problems really occur to those who do not misuse the product.

It comes down to this, I like Abit mobos, always have, I like the looks of the mobo very much. If their SLI version was out when I purchased my setup I might very well have considered it. I wish you great luck with your overclocks and I hope this board lives up to your expectations.

But... DONT come around bashing someone else's hardware when you CANT back it with facts.

Learn to accept that other products may very well be equal to if not greater then your own.

Finally, for using nothing but aircooling and mostly stock equipment, reaching a stable 1:1 memory speed of 313mhz on a winchester 3500+ is a pretty damn good overclock... if I do say so myself.

My CPU is of a VERY poor stepping and week (week 51 CBBID) so reaching a higher mhz is not possible, period.

There are more ways to overclock then pure CPU MHZ alone.

Ok ... quick preview on your current Fatal1ty Bios

Your bios version now is : version 11
Equip with NVMM : Version 4.73 23-11-2004

NVMM is something like nForce2 BPL module... controlling PCR register ... AFAIK ;)

and funny thing is... i think i just saw ROMSIP table in the bios ... thats cool for modding :hehe:

We could be wrong about the +1 to +6 maybe abit just hasnt enabled it after all it is a first release mobo with its first bios.time will tell.
