Looks Like I'm out $500..... I wish I'd have waited for you to test with the KD...
I wonder if it's all AMD boards... Or just the KD-7?
All I know it I can't do anything with this A7N8X anymore.... The temps have gone nuts since I put the XP2700, and Kingston in...
ARRGGHH!

Twinmos ddr400 with Twinmos chips.

Also the PCB is Identical to Corsairs xms3200cas2 except is doesn't have corsair on it and the ram gives identical # to the corsair on Pilsy's rig but does clock a bit further.
how do they klock?Quote:

250?
showe us some ;)
BTW i'm gonna try em in KX7/8K9A rig
You will have to wait to see Pilsy's memory review to see how they did.I have turned the IT7 into my server as im waiting for the 8INXP Granite Bay to touch down in the UK.I can say i have 2 of the Twinmos sticks in the IT7 running 2,2,2,6 ddr400 enhance on in the board no problem with the 1.8a at 150fsb.
OPPAINTER, I remember reading something I think in one of my manuals about a DDR Drive Strength setting which was supposed to be set to high for either KingMax or Kingston. I have no idea why this is so, or why this comes to mind, but perhaps you could try adjusting these settings?
I have a KX7 and am trying to find the exact thing for you. . .
I've got a stick of this stuff, Twinmos PC3200 and it's killer. Again....Winbond chips but it runs tighter timings at less voltage than the Corsair XMS3200 C2 or OCZ 3200 rev.2.:)Quote:

Thx Ice, That stuff is expensive, as almost noone has it, still looking into all the major brands, gonna be corsair, TM, or OCZ.............I'm reading good stuff about the OCZ believe it or not, but not alot out there about the TM... of course EVERY site seems to have gotten their hands on XMS........
Thanks again
muzz
Its cheap in the UK guy's...try to see if you can source it and get it shipped over.
Twinmos is a decent product :-)

You got me thinking some more on the Kingston. I now have it stable at 204 Max timings on KD7. Looks like we're back in the game:D

Keep me posted.. I've got my finger on the RMA buttonQuote:

Found the magic settings :D
Working it now boys :D
TwinMOS in the US:

Thanks for that link, Hallowed. But ouch @ the price, lol...more expensive than Corsair :)
Lo, Opp
I managed to get 216FSB with some XMSPC3500, maxed timing, 2.95v. Doesn't seem to go no higher, even with low timings and more volts. Pic: Sorry about the pop up's :D

I reckon it's the CPU decode and not the ram, as I think Mcree said.
One more thing, if I turn the divider to 4:2:1, put the ram on 200mhz and 133 FSB. At 2.95v Isoft reports a memory speed of 400mhz DDR. If I up the FSB it can rise to 258mhz/516mhz DDR, before it reboots or gets unstable. If I then whack some juice into the XMS, 3.25v :o, I can then set the FSB upto around 185fsb. With the ram on max timings, running 400ddr, I get this:
http://bulldog.faithweb.com/cgi-bin/i/270fsb.jpg
Relax the timings and I get this:
http://bulldog.faithweb.com/cgi-bin/i/278fsb.jpg
Any higher and windows starts playing up.
Now the question is, can the ram do that speed, or is the fact that the CPU's bus is slowing it down and Allowing the ram to run faster. Can some other Kd7 owners see what they can run using these settings.
Cheers

They Will Take the Kingston Back if I order another stick of XMS3500...
Since I probably am going to stick with AMD... What's the verdict... Keep it, or send it back?

TwinMOS is expensive eeh..? :)
Its cheaper than no-name PC3200 and PC2700 here in Norway :D
Still about $100 though for the 256mb stick. I have one of the Winbond 5ns stuff, but my KX7 wont take me higher than 185. Thats with 2-2-5-2-2CMD-1T at 2.85 volts and Fast CPU decode.
If it doesnt go higher in my soon-arriving KD7-E,ill be checking out some PC3500 myself :)
Yep like $124 for 256 here.
Too rich for my blood :)
Think I paid $96 for this Corsair stick, & I thought that was alot :D
