is that the same pcb layout as the older brother leadtek 6800gt ?
it isn't the same PCB, and i can't contact volterra to obtain the datasheet of the PWN used on 6800 GE, GT and ultra :/
Access to the data sheets for the volterra IVR are available only to customers with bull:banana:    NDA...
like the ISL on 6800 and 6800 LE, but the guy at Intersil was cool enough to send me the datasheet, dislike the one at Volterra ...
My ram is very stable @ 940+ in everything except BFvietnam for some reason! I did the cap mod from TP11 to ground and it didnt help. voltage is at 2.72 already so i dunno. Card is extremely cold so i know it just needs a lil more juice for stability!
Stealth did your replacing the missing cap amount to anything?
I'm not too sure since I soldered all 3 caps to the PCB before testing the card, GPU is the same (as expected) since I didn't bother soldering another variable pot and increasing beyond the 1.5v GPU set in the modded bios.
Before the cap mods (mem voltage mod already performed) the card would blank out at anything near 900MHz even with mem close to 3v. After adding all three caps the max stable and glitch free (so far) is 946MHz on the memory @2.88v, anything over 2.9v has a negative impact (lower stable) clocks, and anything precisely at/above 3.0v results in a blank screen, perhaps there is some kind of overvolt protection on the memory.
There has been alot of 6800GT owners with dead cards within 3 months after increasing the GPU voltage to 1.4/1.5v, even with very good hardware and cooling, so adding the extra missing caps on the PCB seems like a good idea for me.
I'm also using one of those OCZ VGA filter power cables and it does help.
went back to stock bios modded to 1.6v, installed a large 2700uf 10v cap to TP1 and wow card feels way faster! Seems the DDR really is starving for juice! Dunno if it clocks higher yet but its far more responsive. It really put some bite in the card thanks for the mod. :toast:

i have a msi nx6800le i try to do the cap mod only for tp1(memory stability)but doesn't work!I use a 3300 μF/16V capacitor,it's ok or need low volt cap?I dont solder nothing only with tape!
firada
Higher voltage cap is preferable. Sounds like the one you have should be perfect.
ALL
Any of these mods good for a stock-PCB 6800GT
these mods aren't good for 6800 gt nor ultra cause they don't share the same PCB as 6800 NU / LE...
but if you find how does the VT1103M work, all 6800 GT / U / GE mods can be done quickly ;)
I want some mods for a 6800 gt, how can we find this out w/o a datasheet?
And you sure that 6800 gt's are dying after 2-3 months with 1.4/1.5v cause I thought that was the le/nu's? And I'd really love to add an extra molex to my gt :)
There has been many reports of dead 6800GT cards only a few months after volt modding it, although I don't see my card @1.5v going kaput any time soon... :D

seems like it's just the bfg's. How's evga go as far as uh... quality? And I have my card flashed to 425/... well it's in my sig lol. If I overclock it to 433/1.14 and run 3dmark it will get up to 77c, and it dosn't clock back to 425mhz, does this mean it dosn't throttle? I'm wondering cause I'm planning to put it under a phase changer, so not throttling would be nice.
Whats he referring to? Under the heatsink? What exactly are these and could they be added?Quote:

i don't think you can done this mod only wih tape
under the little black hs there are 2 or 3 small bga mosfets and the ultra has double that
If I post some high res pics of both sides of the gt, can someone find some mods for it?
hello guys, can any1 tell me where that Red Wire is connected 2? also is this the only mod required for the 6800nu / le. are u lot usin the bios mod 2 up Gpu voltage?Quote:

this mod is only for voltage stability purpose, it doesn't change any voltage. It's an "add-on"Quote:

I'm going to done all mods with Hi Quality pics the next week end and update the first post with a complete how-to ;)
concerning the bios, the best way stay the bios mod, but you can hardmod it easily.
What do you tell them is your reason for requesting a data sheet, what exactly am I asking for? On the site it asks for "Part # or Product Family"

Im locking forward to tjeking out an updatet version :p
Only thing im thinking about is wich of the three places for VDD , VDDQ I have to juse. Not Quite sure on how to measure the best one.
Also I want to do the 3300 uF "mod" but im not a 100 % sure where on the PCB we are talking about :)
BTW LOVE the tread, and I will come back with detait info after doing the mods :)
Yes and apologies for the crappy quality pics I posted on page 2... :DQuote:

it's a VT1103M from Volterra, if you want the name and the manufacturer of the devices.Quote:
