I never realised how much power these cards took. I was playing around with my system yesterday and plugged in a couple of cold cathode bulbs into my only spare molex (which was the spare one from one of my 6800u's power plugs) and the driver popped up a window saying 'your clocks have been brought down due to not enough power'. Its a dud card though anyway - crashes and stalls the whole time. I *knew* I should have got an Asus.... or two... with a cascade... mind you I'd be bankrupt.

The problem I think is more with things like pifast where faster and faster processors make smaller and smaller gains in scores because scores are inversely proportional to speed.

I tried a straight run errored out during car low, and fps were pathetic... the SLI load balancing bar shows that both gpus aren't really loaded much at all I dunno if its a driver issue or not.Quote:

since the right angle is making the 1st evap worse, why did you get the 2nd so cold or did you just have the system already built?
you built a 2 head before, what about a triple head phase?
or, how about a 3 stage on cpu, and dual head cascade for SLi?

In regards to 3D Mark 2001, I thought that for SLI to work, it has to have compatability encoded into the driver on a per application basis and Nvidia thought that 2001 was too old and not worth it.
Anyone know the distance between the two cards? The new Zalman vga cooler i 30mm high, will it fit? :)

You have about 55-58mm to play with on the Asus. I'd try to keep evap 20mm thick as there will still be insulation and the rest of the tighter boards.
I meant that the SLI cards are not for 01... the only good test they run is Nature.
