at 72 I think we are dealing with 500 psig.
Chilly1 > about the autocascade contests, is there any condition about the evaporator ?
a CPU block is the only way or chilling evap is possible ?
i dont know... if youwant to you can make a chiller, its up to you
At the fire extinguishers i've seen, there is a pressure of 60bar on the bottles. So just under 1000psi.
what grade co2 should i get from boc gas.
beer gas?
thats really cheap
That do whould i think.
Sodaclub / beertaps have nice cilinders. Also around 60bar, maybe a bit more. But they are small, dispossable and cheap :D.
@ berkut:
I think that it is a good id to bann them indeed. Cutting up a 60 bar bottle when pressurized is :explode: :slap:
I think fire extinguishers should be banned for safety reasons
Anyone got a better idea here to get CO2 From? I for one cant drop 600$ (CDN) for a new cylinder + regulator.
Look for tire blow up pistols. They come with small (50ml ?) cans under pressure.
Maybe there are some bigger cans
there are aquarium fertilizers, cans of CO2 for plant fertilizing
You might be able to rent a botle for alot less. The gas is very cheap but the botle+regulator are what realy costs. Or you might be able to find a used botle somewhere. CO2 is commonly used as a protective gas for MIG welders so look some tools for sale ads if you could find one.
rent a bottle
it should cost about 4 euro for the CO2 alone, 50 euro for renting a can and regulator
boc gas and liquid air are all around the world as far as i know
i can rent bottle 0.29 cents a day $100 a year.
i am faxing in my account info today should be cleared in 3 days, then go pick up gear.
bottle filled $46AUS, regulators new is 85.
so what grade should ppl get.
welding, beer/ soda co2, fresh food or should i tell them for hydoponics hhee
thats the fist thing the guy asked me at the shop when i asked for it.
Do you mean air liquide? Theres one near me :DQuote:

AGA/Air Liquide (in Finland so prices are way worse than in US I believe) had botles of 10l N2 for 125€/a year. The prices would be about the same for a CO2 botle too. 2years were 213€ and 3years279€. Regulator was around 70€.
If you are planning on using them for a year straight or longer, i would recommend buying the bottle :D. It can allso be used to pressurize systems etc :).

cheers for that.
I have been asked about the grade of Co2 to use, if at all possiable get a CP grade at 99.95% the "beer gas" usually contains moisture and other contaminants.
So what should I tell them I need the gas for. A hyroponics operation? I think the reason they really (I mean really) want to know what it's used for is so that they know that someone wont come back with a damaged or bent cylinder (very bad) or a broken manifold (also very bad) and wonder why it didnt work. It's probably something to do with liability but im not sure.
I'm thinking of buying the 2lb tank $250CDN + regulator $80 Cdn. Apparantly the tank can also be used to N2 if I ever need it, or other inert gases.
Ok, because the contest is running a long time, i'll try to build an autocascade myself :D.
I'll be in with:
r290/CO2 and a 1/2HP 14cc Electrolux compressor (MP14FB) :D
guys but how do you charge co2???as if it is a normal refrigerant or what???
Um if you guyz want CO2 and dont want very high pressure you can always just purchase a cylinder for a paintball gun and have them fill that they come in 9 oz. 12 oz. and 20 oz. if you need a lot this isn't a good idea but i dont think you would need more than 20 oz. the cylinder is about $35 and you can sell on ebay after you are done and the fill is approx. $5 per.
-Thanks
Paul
i founded CO2 in bottles of 0.75L at 13€...but i don't know how to use it, if as a normal refrigerant or mixed with an another refrigerant...
I want to join if it's still possible
I'll start with building it soon :)
