From what I've seen this board doesn't look half bad. I like the layout. The power connector is in a good place (At least for me) the NB cooling won't interfer with a vid card. Theres a cooler for the RAM, the extra fans cooling the board seems alittle different but I could get use to it. Just need to get ahold of one of those boards.
jjcom
why do they use Aluminium Capacitor for Vcore?
Does all 4 phase Vcore system need Aluminium caps?
Abit better put some good effort into this board, otherwise I think most would go for the DFI.
And they better not charge a high premium for those dinky little fans.

So they could fit two fans in there.
is there any info about board's BIOS?? specifically about voltages, vcore, vdimm etc?
Layout looks good.. I like the location of the NB more on the Abit board than the DFI solution since you can't fit a 3rd part cooler on the DFI board when gfx installed. But the 4v vdimm still would make me go for the DFI...
The fans over the RAM on the Abit board is a nice thing, but when benching, how hard is it to just put a 80mm fan over them?
If the vtt follows on the Abit board all the way up to 3.5v and don't cost much more than the DFI, I think I'll go Abit.
The board is expected to launch after Chinese New Year
About the voltage it is still confidental...
no info available :hehe:
at least i hope it will be competitive....DFI paved the way!!!
This AN8 Fatal1ty is not ABIT SLi version so there are only 1 PCI express slot..Quote:

SLi = has lots of issues.
single pci xpress card like a 6800ultra or x800 XL = less issues and teh pwn
If you fall for that SLi crap after many tests have proved that a single card is sometimes faster well I feel sorry for you.
If your smart youll wait for dual cores and SLi that might be the time when SLi really shines as there will be less a bottleneck at the cpu.
Will a currnet socket 939 NF4 mobo support dualcores? Thats still up in the air. MY guess is there will be revised boards if NF4 isnt replaced by NF? in the dual core age by then.
As for me I'm waiting to see how the fatality an8 single pci express board does.
Other reason I'd hold off on SLi is this x16 slots however when using 2 cards they become x8 slots. I'd wait till they figure out how to do dual x 16 slots.
NVIDIA's SLI Shortchanges Gamers? : According to NVIDIA’s marketing, NVIDIA’s Scalable Link Interface (SLI) "can deliver as much as 2x the performance of a single GPU configuration for unparalleled gaming experiences." What NVIDIA fails to make clear, however, is that SLI currently requires NVIDIA to write driver profiles for each game to support SLI. Are all the games you want to play supported? :banana:Quote:

There are programs around to create your own SLI profiles, thus allowing you to play any game with SLI. This is what I've heard anyways.
