in another thread, wurm has already decided to keep 2001 alive, just no more patches(might not work right for future versons of windows) also no one knows for sure how itll work on tomorrows graphics, but I dont see why not, its not like ati will stop supporting dx8 :rolleyes:

yup, just saw his post below that :D I think he has a winchester on his way or maybe a fx55 or both :slobber: that should do the trick, given his 340 nature, he has a few hundred mark advantage in gpu clocks, will make 40k easier with a good winchester or fx55 :D

good god that is alot! might be enough for me to easily hit 21k with my softmodded 9500np and edge closer to 20k with ti4200! can anyone, including codered himself explain the tweaker? can you fry anything if not careful?
Arh dont think you frie anything - its "just" a memory tweaker. Allows for better timings. Awesome tool.
Remember it differs from system to system how many extra points you can get.

There is a bit of explaination in the WPCREDIT wsticky in the AMD forum. Simply this tool allows you to adjust all the A64 memory timings. A typical BIOS uses quite relaxed settings for all of those hidden parameters, by optimising these parameters you will get quite a boost.Quote:

wow I just downloaded it and I dont understand half the timing parameters! What if I set something too agressive, will this prevent windows from booting since itll try to apply the timing upon windows load? I will read sticky and learn as much as I can before I change a single setting. I hope to break 21k with my 9500np then :D

Honestly though, seeing scores like this make me pine for the future. I really can't wait to see the day that we'll be able to run 40k+ on a box-stock / aircooled machine. Once we're able to do that, gaming / computing in general is gonna be REALLY sweet.
I remember when we were all gunning for 20k. You saw the guys with insane setups just trying to break 20k. Now a well built machine can run 20k STOCK easy as pie.

yea I get mid 19k with my ti4200 and near 21k with my softmodded 9500np all on air too! I remember when I got ridiculated when I said 30k will be possible with an x800 and a good a64 on air cooling and look what happened, many people hit that, some even as high as 33k! itll be till san diago and r520 do we see 40k on air
