i was just trying that to see for myself if i could get higher with a higher CAS.Quote:

225 with PAT enabled is as far as mine will go.
thanks for the results... interesting indeed
with 2x 256MB OCZ PC3500EB and 2x 512MB OCZ PC3700EB on AI7 both do 235-240mhz 3-2-2-6 at 3.18v with NB strap 667fsb A-A-A-D-D
looks like some nice results if you ask me, for only 2.9 volts.
but if you ran 235 cas 2-2-2-5.
why can't you boot at 226 cas 2-2-2-5?
using clockgen?
235 2-2-2-5 no PAT
225 2-2-2-5 w/ PAT
both needed only 2.9v. more volts didn't help. I think they can go higher then 235 no PAT, that is just my cpu limit during the summer time. I have no AC. ;)
Interesting test All Kill3r, it's strange that with PAT you can do more...
Your max vdimm is 3.2v?
I'm thinking about a change from my current ram (2*256Mb) to this Crucial (2*512Mb), what we think?
I'm waiting more test, this one make me optimist, but I wait ;)
yes sir, 3.2v (3.18 real) is my max.
im interested in seeing more results myself. I'm thinking real hard on ordering 2 more. 235 2-2-2 out of a gig kit is something that i thought only the winbound could do, im impressed and trying not to order another gig of it... seeing that my max fsb is 240 on a chilly night im more then happy with this RAM.
I want to know what can do with 3.3V...but i f you set 3-3-3 and PAT enable you can post? You test with active cooling on the stix?
It's already a good result, but I think that you can do more ;)
Thanks for the answer.
sure bud, ill try looser then 3-2-2 with PAT enabled after dinner with full 3.2v. I'll see what i end up with and post a result for you. ;)
yes active cooling, 120mm fan blowing over them :D
Thank you so much bud!
Sorry, but here is midnight and I don't remember that you aren't in Italy :D
I use a 120mm fan too on my bh-5, powerful :p:
Good dinner :D
3-3-3 PAT enabled at 226mhz 3.2v = no post
its like they hit a brick wall with PAT enabled at 225mhz.
Damn!
someone test these rams on A64
both Intel and nF2 are very limiting on the mem clocks
This makes no sense, the EB chips love voltage like the BH5 chips. These ballistix sticks use the same chips but revision G instead of C, so I'm guessing that the only difference is a die shrink, kinda like how CH5 is a die shrink of BH5....
Not good.
i think we need to see more end results. :)
i am very happy with mine.
Oh well, crucial sent e-mail on friday saying not in stock till monday, then about 8pm on friday sent me a tracking code for the not in stock crucial sticks and arrived this morning :p
Will test in the next couple hours. only 2x256, but they got the 512's in by the looks of it so will hopefully get some of those by tuesday.
Good, we'll waiting the result :toast:
well, i got new sticks of EB3700 the other day. Only rig i had available that wasn't busy was a NF2 lan party, got it back on rma direct off DFI, the northy had no past on it so the sink was just loose and scrapping around on top, put some paste on and wasn't thinking it would be a great board.
ANyway, smacked the 3700 in the other day and within 20 mins i had it running cas 3,2,3,8 at 268Mhz getting 3960'ish in sandra buffered. I'd never expected the board to go that high, would go with clockgen to around 274 but crash when i started bench. With cas 3,2,2,8 or trying anything cas 2.5 i couldn't pass around 255ish. This is with cpc on and most/all stuff enabled.
Put the two crucial sticks in, boots up as cas 2,3,2,8 and ran fine at 200Mhz, but couldn't get it (cba'd trying more than 3v) past about 210 with cas 2. Went cas 2.5,3,2,8 and got up to 248mhz , 250 would just reset. Tried cas 3,3,2,8 and didn't get any further. Also tried a bit more voltage, cas 2.5/3, 2,2,8 and kept hitting the 246-248Mhz mark.
No voltage above 2.8v was giving anything more. EB was doing those speeds on fairly low, 2.9v.
THe only thing to mention is this is outside case, in hot room, without much direct airflow at all. I'll either get it in a case with fans everywhere and probo heatspreaders off too later today/tomorrow. Been waiting for a waterblock for cpu as its just too hot in here.
IMHO< both the eb and the crucial will go further, just feels like heat issues to me 32c room temp right now.
PS, at some point over weekend i'm hoping to get ath 64 rig into the mix, 939 3500+ asus setup. But is doing an encode at the mo. Will get back onto the lan party aswell when i've got waterblocks on cpu and northy and see what happens. This is passive stock northy sink so some better cooling, especially in these temps, should mean, at a guess, this board will go further fsb wise.
I accidentally ordered 3 x 256Mb sticks on Friday from Crucial Uk and had to cancel two, so maybe that explains the out of stock thing :)
Testing mine at the moment and this is the hotest day of the year it seems, so worse case scenario.
Mine came SPD's at 2-2-2-8 and I am running them currently at 2.65v 2.5-2-2-8 and 242Mhz which is better than my EB3700. At 2.85v it only went to 244 and was unstable in memtest after 80%so not sure if that is a temp issue or these things do not like volts as mentioned above.
Will try 2.5-3-3-8 next.
Regards
Andy
Got fans on them?
EB runs hot, so i'd guess this stuff does too.
170mm Papst fan so that is ok,
Does 267Mhz at 2.5-3-3-7, so pretty nice stuff.

Andy
Well, another good test :)
So andy, do you have any shot? :slobber:
How many volts do you use for 267MHz?
Thanks.
my computer just kept restarting over and over. Turn on for 2 secs turn off, repeat.
I took one of the sticks out and it kept restarting again. Took that one out and the other in and it started right up.
Works fine with another 2x256 kit i tried also.
One of my 512 Ballistix sticks just died.
nice results. so what can I expect if I get some of that pc3200 stuff? 220fsb average at 2-2-2-5 or 240 at 2.5-3-3-7? You got the best results, Andy. 242fsb at ras-cas2! I am at 238fsb now with my cheapo corsair value at ras-cas3 man if I had ras-cas2 id be like 19.2k marks now but im at 18955 still not bad and just some 400 marks away from you too. Do you think theres more in your rig? maybe a 19.5k run with your new ballistix ram?
Yeah, I think 2.5-2-2-5 at 240x10.5 will be on the cards rather than 227x11.Quote:

Mind you I wonder if 265x9.5 at worse timings will be good, here's the image of my top speed at 2.5-3-3-7

It's as hot as hell in the UK at present, so no 3dmark at present until the weather breaks.
