Can't wait till these goes on sale on forums, can't really justify a $60 purchase yet.

how high does the volts go? as high as your 5v rail, right? This and a 256mb of bh5 at 275fsb is tempting but I havent the $ to play around yet, maybe in mid 2005 when im about to upgrade ill try that. if it works then ill put off upgrading a little. If not, then upgrade and sell the bh5 and booster
Does anyone know if this booster will benefit the Abit NF7-S with 2x512mb BH5 chips?? Im looking at OCZ DDR Booster Motherboard Compatibility Chart and it says "use DIMM slot 3" but wouldn't this disable dual channel???? Can anyone confirm this??
by any chance has this been been tested in any of the shuttle sff's?
Any reason why they won't work in the AN50R, and does it track VTT properly??
Also, why does it need to go through the ATX connector, I thought it draws its power from the 5v rail, why can't it use normal Molex connectors??
Im sorry to blurt the obviouw, well at least to me.
What the important thing here is to see before and after tests! I mean isnt that the whole point?
A few peeps seem to have these, but I havnt seen anybody run a test like this:
I had a mthbrd X with 3.2vdimm ran at 240mhz
Mthbrd X with OCZ booster now runs at 250mhz
This is what I want to see, benchies without comparisson are worthless IMHO

But one of the good thing's about this is not needing to mod the 3.3V rail on your psu. I remember when i was running 4.2V into my ram on my P4P800 through a regular vmod I had to run almost 4.4V on my 3.3V line...this killed my P4P800 :(
Steve
i really have to get one of these
Watch the forsale forum is a few weeks then. I may be one of those selling one right after I get it. I just want to play around with it for a bit and then if I get bored with it... it'll go out the door(like half the crap I try). :lol:Quote:

Ok for those who wanted it I tested with a regular vmod and then the booster. I tested with memtest 86+ doing 4 full loops and then 5 loops of test #5.
Asus P4C800dlx bios 1016 official
2x256 OCZ pc3200 plat ltd (bh-6)
Enermax 651W psu
92mm cooling fan over the ram all the time
With the regular vmod
No load Vdimm 3.41V
Load vdimm 3.22V
MAX FSB 232Mhz 2-2-2-5-8 timings
OCZ vdimm booster
No load vdimm 3.40V
Load vdimm 3.32V
Max fsb 239Mhz 2-2-2-5-8 timings
I figured you would say it's not fair because the vdimm booster didn't droop as much as the board so I lowered the booster :toast:
OCZ booster agian with lower voltages
No load vdimm 3.31V
Load Vdimm 3.22-3.23V
Max FSB 236Mhz 2-2-2-5-8 timings
Anyone want any other tests while I'm at it?
Steve
Thanxs matey that is more like it
:)
I hope other peeps can follow you example. One thing I am curious of, if u have experience 3d01 kicks to desktop at a certain frequency, could u test at the same frequency but this time with the OCZ booster.
Thanxs

I also thought about this. I think I'll do a ordinary mod instead if you can't use the dual channel.Quote:
