I dont think it will work. Think it was made mostly for springdales (865 stuff). But , you could always order one from newegg and if it doesnt work RMA it. you would lose money thoughQuote:

Let me repeat this is plain english. The 2.4A prescott is the same chip/stepping/batchs as the other prescott. The only difference is the 18 multiplier. Everything on intel's site says the 2.4A is nothing special, nothing on intel's site says there is a special chip with a super stepping that runs cooler/better/faster than the other prescott chips. In fact logic would almost demand that the fastest chips are the best chips intel that is currently manufacturing. So why would the slowest/cheapest prescott be something special? The D stepping when it does come will be available first on the 3.4E or 3.6E and will trickle down from there. Notice how there isn't a 3.4E yet? I think there is a good reason intel hasn't released a 3.4E.

I don't think anyone is looking for a super chip here. It is just interesting seeing a prescott with an 18x multi, and they clock realy high it seems. They also produce some exceptional super pi times, so what is the harm is playing with them?
I realy don't remember where people said this was the best chip out...nobody is expecting to top opp's 3dmark score using this chip.
And they are 149 bucks
I got my 2.4A yesterday. Tested it in my P4C800 DLX.
3700MHz was max. stable with boxed cooler.
3800MHz -> unstable
I'll try vapor cooling later on.
seriously those chips are amazing!
I think its becoze at the start they was some 200FSB, so they can OC easyly on the FSB. But i dont know why the clock speed is so high!
So jan, is that a C-0 or D-0 revision chip you've got there?

My 2.8E at 4.3G (307 5:4 on P4C800-E) does lobby hi of 160FPS under optimal driver/OS..NW would do pretty much the same if not better.
SuperPi 8M is pretty much the only test where the 'scottie rox :D

seems to me that your cascade is going to get Prescot treatment and not the other way around;) Intresting to see what the evap temps are with that succer....
