40 Gb, and in sec. Sys. with an Albatron KT333 an IBM 15 Gb
and an Fujitsu 8,4 GB, and all work fine with 200 MHz +.
But Attention, the Raidcontroller wont work over 200 MHz.
(that cost me a lot of time to find it out ;) )
Only the Gforce 4 Ti from Leadtek on sec. Sys. cant get
higher then 205 MHz without Artifacts
Btw. , is there none out there with an working KX7 :D
Can't remember the stepping on the CPU, bt it's the ones that had the same stepping as the sweet 1700+'s, had it to 2.3GHz on crappy air myself, so I know the CPU can handle it, and at stock volts, I'm just not sure if the motherboard can manage.
I was pushing 211 for the top on my kx7, but that was hardly stable, i think i only ever ran 1 full 3dmark run at that speed.
My radeon9700pro wouldn't take it so i used a ti4200 and my hard drive was in pio4 or it would corrupt. It was generic pc3200 at nearly 3.4 volts, modded and at super-slack timings.
I got a little happy trying to push the ram farther and the chips on one side of the stick cracked. It still ran as a 128mb stick, but i just tossed it. Those were the days.
Had my kx7 as high as 218 FSB, but the AGP tearing was so bad Windows was unusable and BIOS settings had to be made from memory, the BIOS setup screens were completely scrambled.
Ti4200 at the time.
wow, the highest I achieved so far was 192Mhz fsb with corsair pc3500xms on an Epox 8k5a2 (typing on that rig now)Quote:

Unfortunately I'm only running 170 now (giving me about 2.2Ghz cpu speed)
The strange thing is, if i plug in my corsair or a friends geil pc 3500, the computer crashes after 2 or 3 days uptime :s
I get a higher stock score with 177 fsb, turbo, 2252 1t queue depth 4 burst length 8 2035 Mhz than at 186 2046 mhz same timings. 8K3AE. I know it's different, but not so different from 8K3A/+ boards... I used BIOS files for 8K3A/+ boards when I couldn't find updates for the E model, in Autumn of 2002, though contemporary wisdom is that they won't work. Currently using latest correct BIOS.Quote:

It was an Bios Prob, and with the newer Bioses they fixed
that "Bug".
With old Bios u had on Memory Bandwith Benchmark @ 200 MHz
2500 - 2600 but with the newer ones ~ 3000 Points.
Someone have still an KX333 in operation, and want to make
some Benches @ 200 MHz and 2-2-5-2 2T ? (same Multi)
I want to know it :D
Maybe I'll try wpcredit and see what I can do with it.
I am sure the fast command decode comment from an earlier post is correct, but I suspect there are yet other latencies/settings involved as one goes yet higher in FSB.
Ok, now i found the old Thread on www.planet3dnow.de .
If someone can read german here is the Link !
Its from summer '02. Here some Facts from there :
My 8K3A with old Bios :
12x133 : 2049/1966
10x165 : 2548/2407
10x166 : 2479/2291
10x167 : 2492/2306
9x195 2-2-5-2-1T : ~2770/2550
An KX7 @ 190 FSB :
2876/2666 MB 2,5-2-5-2 1T
Ok, 8K3A sucks ..
Offizial Bios Update 25.08.02 8K3A+ :
sisoft memory benchmark mit 195FSB 2-2-5-2-1T :
2996 / 2780
Ergo the CPU FAST COMMAND is enabled !
I swear the 8K3A isnt slower then the KX7 !
We need someone with this Mobo !!!
The Problem was that the Epox with old Bios disable
the Fast Command Rate over 165 MHz FSB but thats past ;)
I sold mine 8-/
In a week, my vacation starts, so I'll have a week to test all rigs in the house ;)
Nice !Quote:

Till then :D
I bought that KT333 board to be in my first pc ever, but unfortunately I had to sell the whole thing after a couple of weeks (arguement with parents)
But I was fortunate enough to be able to sell it to my granddad, and I have to say, it's a good machine, and it's way more stable then my own nf2 rig which crashes on a regular basis (I'm off to install windows again, because I tried to add a HD and I can't boot anymore :()
Edit, GravediggA, just read your sig, does your corsair really needs that many volts? That's like stock speed for that stick of ram?
Dood, its not enabled any longer... The 08/15/02 was the official BIOS, 08/25/02 may have been a german release of that , because the next BIOS was the 08/29/02 beta , anyhow they are both OLD bios's ... There were several releases after that, and any BIOS after that has it disabled. the most widely used is the 04/09/03 bios... It was great, but FCD was disabled. The Very latest is 9/16/03 (the only change from 04/09/03 is added CPU support for Applebred )Quote:

I DO still have my motherboard in my 2nd PC... Epox has gone through great lengths to get the memory scores up higher, and it has worked...but FCD is NOT enabled over 166mhz. Memory bandwidth is only one test, it does not always indicate true performance. I spent years with this board, hanging out on Epox's forum with thier support rep, and his manager at AOA forums. I have tried every BIOS, I have even used WPcdredit to show what each value is set at, and FCD is not enabled.
Its still a great board. Absolutly one of the best OC'ing motherboards of all time.
Ok Ok
But i want Benches !
I have an modded Bios from en freind , i think its was 2912,
but cant see it on Bootscreen.
Its only precaution ;)Quote:

here goes mine!
done with a epox 8k5a3+, with original nb heatsink, and a tbred 2100+, i was using ocz el 3700 ram

Not a kt333, but a kt266a.. close enough? Abit KR7A with slack timings (which is why the sandra score sucks).
It seems like 195 is the highest I ever got my fsb up (epox 8k5a2)
this was with corsair pc3500 xms C2 (one 256mb bh-5 stick)
Unfortunately, I only seem to have a wcpuid screenshot (it was far from stable anyway...)
I also seem to have gotten my 2100+ cpu as high as 2313Mhz
the highest multiplier I can select is 13, so the fsb limits me...
Think I once benched at 225 or 230Mhz (not quite sure though) on the Epox 8k5a2+, but that's more than 1 year ago.
Board is still is my son's rig. Will try to test it again tomorrow or so.
I recall that you said that on Born2oc too some time ago, I was pretty amazed by those numbers, have you done any mods?
Update:
Just screenstable ;)
http://people.freenet.de/funkflix/237fsb.jpg
8K3A+ with 1 x 256MB Infineon 6A
8k3a+ 1.0
bios 2912 beta..if i remember exactly.....
Nice one!! :D
GravediggA Don't disturb the dead. They are there to be mourned!
The Thread is just 6 Months old!
Dead? My 8K3A+ still rules in my second Sys.! ;)
