Ok, just done the wire from the psu 3.3v to the vmem mosfet. ALthough without the other mods it ofcourse didn't bring me that much. It did bring me 1 more mhz of 1:1. I'm now able to complete pifast at 244.3mhz 2.2.2.5 :)
But it wasn't as easy as I thought as the damn solder wouldn't stick to the mosfet at first.
next weekend I'll try to up the 3.3v line as it's hovering around 3.2v ~ 3.28v according to hardware doctor.
And btw, that is showing a very healthy 1.62v VTT without doing anything about that.
But VDDQ is showing around 1.3v which seems very low to me?
Someone with some skill could make a handy little business performing this mod for people for like $100usd a shot...
100$? your crazy!!
it's cheap for that work! 100 USD would be the right price ;)
Amazing skills Hipro :slobber:
:toast:
if anyone wants me to do it, i can do it for that :)
Thank you guys....... :toast:
Yes to solder on mos-fet you need more temp on the soldering iron.......
hipro, would it be possible to lift up the source leg of the vdimm mostfets of an IC7 and put 5v directly at the mosfets?
Yes I figure it out myshelf .........The problem is that before we power up the mobo, those Mos-Fets are fed by a 3.3Voltds stand by Voltage(through winbond chip-mos-fets)......So we have to add two BIG diodes ....and to lift up the Mos-fets......Quote:

Thank you...... :toast:
hipro, you got the gold medal even before the competition starts:) :)
Outstanding.....:toast: :toast:
P4C800E DLX mods requested....:D :D
Keep going your good work
One suggestion: why don't come here for the opening match in Euro2004 (Portugal-Greece) and use some of your time to mod my board?:D :D

i dont understand. you have to lift up the whole mosfet, and put 2 big diodes on the 5V line that is going into the mosfet?
Thanks M8...... :toast: :DQuote:

It would be great if I could leave my job...I really need some vacations BUT I can't..... :(
Don't worry..I'll post about that and about DFI Lan Party 875 Mobo..... ;)Quote:

Hipro5, I've done the vdimm mod having allready done the 3.3v mod to my psu before.
But now the computer won't post anymore. I fear I've killed it but just to be sure and see if I can revive it.
in your guide you write:
Here’s the spot of the R50 that we have to UNSOLDER for this mod…MAX 3 has also a resistor AND a tiny SMD transistor ABOVE it that HAS to be unsoldered as well…
So I unsoldered the R50, I allready unsoldered the MC64 before. But with smd transistor I figured the small tripple legged thing above R50, so the other side of MC64. I don't see that thing in your pics at all so I figured that your pics are off IC7 G. Anyway, I unsoldered that triple leg thing as well.
After I was very happy with how it looked I fired up the pc, all sounded right. Except for the post beep. It just stayed there, fans running.
My question is, did I understand you correctly in that that small tripple leg thing had to go as well?
I borrowed Bigtoe's picture to show what I removed to ask if that is correct.
I mean the 3 legged thing that has the arrow pointed towards it.
Having reread your instructions, do I need to remove the resistor just to the right of the 3 legged thing as well?
Any help would be very very much appreciated as i'm typing this now on a pIII 500@515 :)
The extra mods didn't help my IC7 go any higher than it did w/ Vddr/Vtt mods only. SuperPi 1M limit is around 258MHz 1:1 w/ fastest timings. And its not the RAM maxing out as the limit is the same w/ both ValueRAM (does 262 on P4C) and KHX3200 (270 on P4C).
5:4 FSB didn't go any higher either. This is a very old Ic7 so maybe it is just plain crap board :D
I got an IC7MAX3 for 80€ (no warranty, brand new board - MC64 removed) and I'll give it a go next :D
Hopefully it will reach better speeds.
Vagp mod on my P4C800 seemed to give a nice FSB = 350FSB aircooled
350 FSB on air :slobber: :toast:
Hello to all, i'm an italian boy who like very much computers. Last month, i bought a ic7-max3 mobo and a p4 3.0. I've looked at hipro5 "motherboard modding guide" for ic7 family mobo, and so, i've modded my ic7 max3, but i haven't done Vdd mod. When i've powered on the pc nothing appears... no beep, non sound, no video... Why? I've used 500ohm 25 turns trimmer and 10ohm resistor smd. Help me, please.
Thank you for your interess
P.s scuse me fo my bad english
Phantom, same here. I'm waiting for a reply from someone as well to that.
What exactly did you unsolder from your mobo?
i've unsoldered the 3 legs component and the capacitore near it (r50?).
I've resoldered the 3 legs thing and now the pc works again :)
I still would like an answer though as I still want to do the vdimm mod.
Edit:
I still have r50 removed but with no resistor soldered to it anymore.
This seems to result in the vdim up to 2.8v to be normal but after that it seems the 3.3v line goes almost straight through to the vdimm. Not a bad thing in itself as for 24/7 settings 5:4 2.8v is enough for me.
I just tried some 1:1 pifast at ~3.35vdimm and 250.8mhz 2.2.2.5 was possible. that's some 5.5 mhz more then was possible before with r50 still present.
Note, this is still without VTT mod.
but in your mobo, you don't have r50 and r50, true?
I don't have r50 and mc64, other then that it's standard again except for the 3.3v mod on my psu.
In your MAX3 mobos you have to "forget the 2.9-3-3.1-3.2 voltages.......You'll have to play into bios with the 2.5-2.55-2.6-2.65-2.7-2.8 ONLY.........
Try to measure the resistor(10 Ohms) from the right leg of the mos-fet to the other end of it FIRSTLY....Then solder the 200 - 1 KOhms trimmer and you MUST trimm it so as to see the MAX resistance and NOT (for example) 1KOhm but around 70 Ohms from the one side of it soldered onto the R50(10 Ohms) and the other end(ground)...After all that boot up........
....yes that's the transistor that it has to be unsoldered.......
