Most LGA1155 boards can boot from USB3.0 AFAIK. I know my P8P78 Pro can.

That's good to know. I have a BR drive connected to an RIIIE USB3.0 and haven't figured out how to boot from those ports. Hopefully it'll be possible on the RIVE too.

VR-Zone did a round up of USb 3.0 controllers and their speed, NEC isn't actually that great, EtronTech, and Frisco, and ASMedia fair well.
