LMK how you like the mouse, I need a new one.
Nice I just bought a Microsoft Sidewinder x8 myself, should get it on Tuesday..
It's nice, it's clean, it's sharp, and I'm interested. I have sub'd this project!
Updates!!!!
Currently waiting on an IHS for the 580 before I can install the GPU. It should be here sometime this week.
mmmm wish i had as much modding skills/balls as you do :)
EDIT..

Hi OC Maximus,
in regards to the top pannel, do you know what size the holes are? are the 2.5mm or 4.8mm?
cheers :D

You will love the Gene. I have had mine up and running for about a week and it's great. Love the build. You have some nice skills that I wish I had.
I'm so loving the Gene-Z. Wow, what a great and stable board. Not even going to go into details but.... just WoW!
IHS for the GTX 580 will be here on Monday. A slight delay but the modding must go on... Almost time to slap on that waterblock.
I'll be on vacation next week. Rented a bungalow for the family and I here on the beach in Hawaii :) I'll get back to modding next weekend.
BTW, thanks Splave for the IHS :yepp: You da Man Mate ;)
580 installed (thank you Splave for the IHS), still have a lot of wire management and sleeving to work on. I'm more of a function over form type of person so I'll do my best. I'll snap some pics this weekend of this never ending work in progress.
Just got some Mayhem's Dye in hand. This should be fun ;)
Hey mate,
Got another question for you:p
When you selected your rad for the top panel, did you have to buy one of a specific thickness so it didn't clash with the motherboard?
I'm trying to figure out if the HWLABS GTX radiator (56mm) will be to thick with fans on it, so to be safe I've chosen a koolance 30mm thick rad, for now.
Look forward to hearing from you.
*raises thread from the dead.
Any updates on this build? Curious if you noticed any adverse affects of using the dye in DI-Water or if you are happy with the results!
Compact build, Lan Rig?
Well, the machine has been running for a little over a month and since its filter cleaning time I thought I'd snap some pics of the progress.

Still need to work on wire management and sleeving. Also need to make a hold down plate for the power cord and the top trim piece for the drive bay.
Mick from Mayhems Dye was kind enough to send me a few samples so look out for my mini Dye review ;)

Not really. Not an issue since the I'm using a mAtx board now anyway.
Never really used DI only. Always used PT-Nuke with it. I've never had a problem with that combination.
Not a Lan Rig, just my 24/7 daily driver. I have no need for a gigantic case... yet..... :)
ah ic, very nice...
Looks like you need to clean a few filters :p:
very clean and well thought out build, love the photography.
The the samples arrived :)
Why'd you scrap the Gigabyte? Curious because that's what I'm using in my GF's build. I'm about to start my own build and was thinking i7 / UD7...but since I'm able to achieve such great results with the UD5 / i5...I see no reason to change it up. Nevermind the fact that Bulldozer may be worth a look...and of course...I could wait for Ivybridge. Sorry...tangent...but again...why the Gene-Z?
Didn't scrap it, sold it :) There was nothing wrong with it, but I wanted something different and smaller.
Why ask why? Its a great board. Smaller than a full ATX and perfect for my build. Plus, you gotta love them ROG boards with all the bells and whistles.
