Tried the new bios 1253 and didn't like it @ all.
Not stable for me using previous settings. By per core setting wouldn't stick and it would always revert to by all cores.
Only thing I liked was that it would set my RAM to run @ 1600mhz which bios 1053 can't do even when I set it manually.
Also noticed that my system would always run @ 4.8ghz eventhough Speedstep was enabled...
Same for me, I had to give more vCore to be stable but then just now when I was trying to turn it on, it froze while booting at windows logo and I restarted it by force, now it is back to normal.Quote:

Hi bingo13, got the P8P67 WS Revolution yesterday and a nice 2600K chip too.
I know that the CPU is running with Multi >= 50.
On the WS with latest Bios latest 0804 I can only boot into Windows with Multi 49.
In the bios is no "Internal PLL Overvoltage" option. I guess that might be the problem. Is there anything planned to include this option into the next bios.

Just updated bios and no ram problems with my g.skills.
Only problem is that the motherboard will not detect my SSD. I am try to get the system to detect a G.Skill Falcon2 128Gb. I know it is not the power or sata connections causing problems. The SSD is also had it fw updated to the latest provided by g.skill.

hmmm should be no problem at all - did you tried using IDE instead of AHCI mode? tried different ports (i am using the blue ones and disable the additional controllers).Quote:

2. There are occasional "huge" vcore spikes that last no more than a fraction of a second - even when the CPU isn't under load.
These are present even with LLC completely disabled. I'm a little concerned because these spikes go over 1.40v.
Current settings:
vcore offset mode: +0.085
LLC: forced off (standard)
PLL overvoltage: on
Everything else left on defaults...
Idle vcore: 1.09v.
Load vcore: 1.32v - 1.34v
Random vcore spikes: 1.38v - 1.41v
Results with these settings:
4.2 GHz (24/7)
4.5 GHz (completely prime stable)
4.6 GHz (4 hours prime stable)
EDIT: Load temps varied between 50C - 70C depending on whether or not I opened the window. I'm in Champaign and it's been single-digit/negative Fahrenheit outside for the past week. :rofl::ROTF:
EDIT 2: If I open my window all the way and let the sub-zero air go straight into the rig, I can get 4.9 GHz almost stable with temps below 80C. But I don't feel gutsy enough to sustain 1.45v+ on it long enough to stress it or get 5.0 GHz anything more than screenshot-able.
With BIOS 1053, I'm only 3 hours prime stable at 4.6 GHz with offset mode +0.100. But I don't recall any huge vcore spikes going over 1.4v.
I'm not sure why you're surprised by this. The point of using higher LLC settings is to suppress the Vdroop specifically at load. Your CPU spikes to >1.4V because your it will briefly remain at your max turbo multiplier in a zero load situation and you are using a very high offset.Quote:

Those settings will probably get you around 1.35V under load with your overclock. You can drop the offset in .05V increments and it will also drop the load Vcore by a proportional amount. If you lose stability at LOWER clocks due to undervolting, then drop your LLC from Ultra High to High (and raise your offset slightly again).
General consensus seems to be the following...
The majority of these processors can actually run at 4.8GHz on 1.37-1.39V using appropriate phase control options
4.5-4.6GHz can be achieved with 1.33-1.35V
4.9GHz isn't a wall, but it is a very steep ramp. My particular sample wants at least 1.41-1.42V at 4.9GHz vs 1.36-1.37V for 4.8GHz.
My settings for a 24/7 OC (1.016V idle, 1.368V load, 1.376V load-drop):

BCLK/PEG Frequency = 100
Turbo Ratio = By All Cores = 48
Internal PLL Overvoltage = Enabled
Memory Frequency = DDR3-1866
OC Tuner = Disabled
EPU Power Saving Mode = Disabled

Load Line Calibration = Ultra High
Phase Control = Extreme
Duty Control = Extreme
CPU Voltage = Offset Mode = .020V
DRAM Voltage = 1.6V
Have you tried the "ASUS CrashFree BIOS3 Utility", itīs a recovery tool and itīs suppose to recover the bios from the support DVD.Quote:
