While I hope that it is implemented, I doubt it.
The whole thing with the Aquaero (the old one atleast) was that it was failsafe, and can run without your OS. So if your computer hangs or w/e the monitoring never failed.
BUT, it would be nice to be able to have the option at least. And you could have it displayed and give warnings from these values also. Who knows, maybe your block got lose or something. I hope that these values could be read. And who knows, maybe Aquasuite would be able to read these values like everest and implemented that way.
That would be really nice :)
And shoggy, how long are you planing on making us wait!?!
Is it coming out in a black version?
Hopefully not so long... (I know that this was very helpful answer :D)Quote:

A black faceplate is also available.Quote:

Well, you said winter... That gives you until 23:21 (UTC) on the 20th or March to do so... after that it will be too late :p:
What about white to keep up with the times? (rumour says white is the new black :) )
Either way looking forward to the release... Unlike other components every Aquaero I've purchased has made it through many builds :)
I wonder if your suppliers would be keen to leak information as Apple's suppliers do :p:
Hehe, they won't since they do not know anything more than you. We have not given away any information so far.
Correct me if I'm wrong, but Aquaero still runs off a custom software in the background to monitor and control a watercooling system. All it needs to do now is to poll data from Everest, etc, to deliver the extra information. I doubt this will compromise stability.
It can be very handy to display CPU/GPU temp, clock speeds, core voltages in real time especially when running games to find how the PC responses under load in real time.
Phil
Thats true, but you only configure through Aquasuite. And from what I understand you don't even need the program when the Aquaero have been configured. Again, not 100% sure about this.
Still, I also hope that they can give the option to at least monitor these temperatures from the OS.
I hope that everyone had a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!
But you know what would make it even better? If shoggy would be in the sharing mode! :D
Good to know.
BTW, Shoggy: have you considered making poll as to what color faceplate most users would need/prefer (for this, and other AC products aswell)? If it's 2/3 in favor of black (as i'm guessing) - maybe it's worth to put it as default to save that much users extra spending? Of course, those who need it, will buy nevertheless, and you might earn a bit less on such extra "option" sales, but it at the same time will make main product, aquaero itself, more competitive with possibly being sold at higher volumes, making it up to lost optional faceplate sales imho. After all, clearly aquaero by itself is cheaper/more competitive price-wise then cost of aquaero+faceplate. :)
I recall also some of AC products lacking black faceplate option - i wonder if you haven't lost in some cases few potential buyers because of that for those particular few products?
P.S.
Seeing recent thread about Swiftech 6900 full cover block's sticker design made me think .. - what do you say about idea of making/selling colored stickers for faceplates in some different colors/patterns for greater choice to modders to match color of their builds/cases? Eg. red, yellow, clear white, green, carbon fiber pattern. It should be cheaper then making yet another faceplate and printing should allow great diversity in looks.
No idea what you guys are talking about the software here. It seems that some are talk at cross-purposes. The aquaero 3.07 and 4.00 do not need any software in the background to work. It is a completely independent device with its own CPU and operating system. The aquasuite is only an extended graphical user interface with some additions like logging or diagrams etc.
@MrToad: for example -> make a display - very useful information for the supplier since they still have no idea what it is good for :D Same with almost all other parts especially since the functions are software related so the naked hardware will not tell you much about its features.
New Hardware is good ,but what about new Software. Will Aquasuite be just slightly updated to support "Aquaero 5.0", or we can expect a totally different software suite to work with the new device?
I think what it's been discussed (which I admit is something that did cross my mind as useful as well) is adding the ability of reading hardware temps (like the thermistors included in CPUs, GPUs, MBs etc. etc.) from within the Aquasuite software, or failing to do that to interact with software like Everest to obtain those readings (very long and convoluted IMHO, you can use the same APIs directly in Aquasuite) and integrating them in your software. Don't know if this is a bit clearer.
Well, in the case of the display yeah, a display is a display. In fact having so many established manufacturers of displays with well documented control chips integrated as "standard" SKUs I'd be surprised if you ordered tailor made ones...
However, you'd be surprised what you can reverse engineer from an assembled PCB ;) Unless you control everything from design to distribution, including assembly and packaging, you're vulnerable ;)
Right, now off to cover up another alien landing... *cough* *cough* all this Morley is going to kill me one day :p: :p:
SpuTnicK: i see nothing wrong with good old aquasuite. I actually prefer it as it is to those of competitors. "Don't fix what's not broken" - stable, relatively bug free software is one of main good points about aquaero in my eyes, and i'd hate to loose it just to have new version with arguably if necessary new features or blinged up looks and very probably new bugs. :/
@MrToad: Well, it IS a custom made display since we had some specific requirements :D
@churchy
I an not saying the current version of Aquasuite is bad. Just wondering if with new hardware there might be new software released too, especially if to consider what functionality the new Aquaero can bring judging from that remote control pictured.
I cannot imagine myself using that remote control (after all, i don't need nob to turn down fans nor remotely nor on case itself, i need aquaero exactly to do that automatically depending on load), and if it's addition will increase aquaero's price 1.5x times, i'd wish for option to buy aquaero without it. I still haven't bought "smart controller", as my build haven't progressed yet to that stage, but so far from all the threads/posts/comments i read about different alternative controllers of this type, aquaero stands above rest exactly with stable software, which i don't want to loose by replacing with redundant/unused features. More powerful old aquaero (well, maybe now with few added pwm channels for pwm fans and new pwm pumps) = would be ideal fan & pump controller in my eyes, as it mostly lost to alternatives in max load it can handle. I would love to be able to control two pumps (even more powerful ones like D5) per loop and big pile of fans from single aquaero. It's hard to do that with old one due lack of power. Of course one can make poweramps or buy such made by AC aswell for use with aquaero and at least be able to handle two DDCs, but IIRC most of such dropped max voltage (and so do pump performance) by 10%.
the "new" aquaero teaser has disappeared from aquacomputer's website! Hope this doesn't mean it's being delayed!
I think Shoggy's timing of this was way off. Here in the states he just got a new retailer and offered the old. Now a big change . I think this will turn new customers off big time. He hurt sales for his new retailer. now they will be stuck with stock.
As for different color face plates It will not matter since i have had a problem getting them to match any way. just paint them or have them anodized yourself.
I like AC's products But i think this hurt them some what. I am just wondering if I can run both depending whats offered on the new one.
@sunnyville: that banner contained a Santa Claus with wishes for Christmas and a new year - of course we had to remove it :p:
@slotrod: I have a new retailer there? That brings me directly to the question why this is the first time that I hear about this...
