ok, Il waiting:)
windwithme, may i make a request of a 3dmark06 cpu test? :)
SB looks great. What are the temps? 24/7 voltage range for SB? I wish they just left the igpu for lower end parts and mobile parts.
Very nice.
Really interesting
Aww can't believe I've missed this thread (gotta try check Intel section more often compared to News section ), I've been dying to see some proper OC results with full info shared. THANK YOU SO MUCH!
Quite impressive Everest (AIDA) memory benchmark numbers, at the stock setting 3.5GHz DDR3-2133 9-10-9-27 you get almost identical results as to my P55 setup at 4.1GHz DDR3-2340 9-10-9-24 !!!
I wonder how safe it would be to run SB 24/7 at such voltages though, that's whereabouts people usually draw the line for their current 45nm Lynnfield setups as far as voltages go for a 24/7 setting (on air), still at least 4.8GHz or so could be done probably at 1.35v or so perhaps and that'd still be a nice result. But so far it seems nearly all SB 2600K reach 5GHz at quite similar voltages ~1.4v so that's a good sign of that the manufacturing process is doing well for SB.
ok yea its 1 second faster. I guess its a good improvment i really didn't think about it. 920s at 5ghz do 8 second super pi. Aren't 1156 i7 800 series faster than i7 900 series clock for clock? so wouldn't this be kinda on par with that? IDK i kinda expected somthing a lot faster i guess that would be 2011, even though it seems to be the same architecture as 1156, i was expecting more from oups cache, but his memory bandwidth is very nice. Anyawys nice job.
windwithme, could you possibly test OC with HT disabled to see how much of a difference it makes, how much vcore you need for 5GHz then, for example, thanks. AFAIK no1 has provided such comparision yet...
BTW your last picture of the RAM sticks are a bit unsharp.... sorry I'm just teasing with you, your pictures are always so nice and sharp. :p: BTW how are you associated with BioStar? Last time when P55 was released I remember your early oc results of a i7-860 @ 4.2 ~ 4.3GHz at similar voltages on a biostar mobo then as well.
Here's My 32M at 4.6GHz on "Air" :) http://i1004.photobucket.com/albums/...king/8m110.png
Found this in Germany:
5.1GHz i7-2600K, watercooled.
nice benchmarks, Cinebenchs are cool.
Does anyone know if the mounting holes on the 1155 boards are in the same place as the 1156 motherboards?.. I see the Prolimatech hsf used but i can't tell if he had to mod it to fit
yes, the mounting holes are the same as on the 1156 mainboards.
5Ghz on air,Cant wait to see what i can get with Phase.
What is MAX Multi for 2600K
I think its 48.. Really depends on the chips though
This is getting interesting. Looks like some new records might be on the way.:D
For some of us here, there is still a NDA to be followed...
Man i am jealous of you having those pretty hardware to play with. getting a golden sample of a cpu is so nice!
Found this :

Looking at this I like SB a lot, though for me and other benchers it's gonna be a bummer if I can't go subzero soon !! (need a new LN2 deal somewhere somehow...)
QFT leeghoofd;)
Recently i looked at my Singlestage and it seems bored:censored:
wow thats the nicest looking biostar board ive ever seen! :toast:
i really like how they went black pcb but red and WHITE instead of red and black like EVERYBODY these days... very nice! :toast:
and the components look good, the top pwm heatsink looks very nice... clean layout... nice...
only the left pwm and the sb heatsinks look blocked by that stupid metal caps with a branding message on it... but i have high hopes those can be popped off...
if this goes for around 150$ and has a decent bios its going to be a very nice board i think...
