By the way, how much did that 580 cost you, if you do not mind me asking?
Nice 580, Napalm!
Btw, I've just uploaded the 0.4.5 for MacOSX 10.6.
http://img51.imageshack.us/img51/210...u045macosx.jpg
It's my first program for Mac :D
In the next days I'll upload the 0.4.5 for all the other OSs... I've just optimized sightly the performance and solved several minor bugs tho.
Where are the AMD benches anyway?
even if it costs more it still beats 2x 460 :D
my results here have all been on the q9650/p45/ddr2
an upgrade has long been overdue but its coming
arctucas keep pushing
thanx jogshy :toast: stock cooled at that
0.4.5 bring it!
i decided to check this out over the weekend, great benchmark.
got 607 seconds with the cpu in my sig, somehow a 100mhz slower than particle, but 13 seconds faster.
loved playing with the various settings and i noticed the slider for quality, seemed to do nothing visually, but alot on the scene setup time (like it makes more polygons? but we cant see them very well with the AA at 0x?)
stock cooling  virgins no mods

Hmmmmmm....does this look right??????
edit: Wow NapalmV5!! The 580 is kickin it!!
I've just uploaded the 0.4.5d fixing several bugs with the timers for Windows, Ubuntu 10, SUSE 11.3 and MacOSX 10.6. Fedora 14 still has some problems with OpenCL
Btw, I've tested it with the new Intel OpenCL 1.1 SDK Alpha ( which appeared today ):
http://img222.imageshack.us/img222/8...lopenclsdk.jpg
Here are the results with my i7 920 OCd to 4Ghz ( I have no idea why it says 2666Ghz on the description tho ) and Win7 x64 ( with ratGPU in 32bits mode.. because the IntelSDK currently only supports x86 ).

Gonna be interesting to compare the AMD's CPU implementation vs the Intel's one ;)
thanx :toast: indeed!

anyway to add individual times for each portion of the test? if its going to take a few hours it might not be worth the effort,
but it think you would want to have each test be "about" the same effort. so adjust the accuracy of the rays or resolution size, etc.
this could really help make your app show if certain devices work best on certain things, and i think it would then have enough quality for some serious reviewers to use it in testing
You can open each scene file individually and render changing the settings if you need.
File->Open -> locate the .RAT files which are on [installpath]\StandAloneRenderer\scenes -> Change the common settings ( adjust resolution, etc... ) -> Change # of rays, etc... -> Render
how about changing the hybrid render path so one (or all similar) renderers go from one side of the image and the rest (slower) ones go from the other until they meet at whatever point they run into each other? This would reduce the workload being cut into two equal halves then being placed on two unequal performing parts.
This is with Intel's first public OpenCL 1.1 alpha driver:

Some quick math tells me, the low shader speeds maybe holding the Ati cards back.
