485 GTX is what i'm happy about. 1ghz core anyone??
I don't think pulling off a competitive GTX490 will be much of an issue if they do use Fully enabled GF104. better SLi vs CF scaling is their saviour here.
* What will be intreresting though is what clocks they settle on with a fully enabled part.
* What Response Ati will have given the 725Mhz clock on Current 5970
whats the planned release date for that bank account shrinker ???? because ati might have its 6000 series ready by now ....
I bet it's a GF104 x 2 at the $499-$549 price range with full unlocked capabilities and 2Gb of RAM. Nvidia is really happy with the GF104 and I think it will be what they push going forward. I also bet they are having better yeilds with it, so pushing everything in that direction would be better profit wise.
I also bet as soon as it is released ATI does this:
HD5970 - $499
HD5870 - $299
HD5850 - $199
HD5830 - Disco
ATI has been sitting on fat profits for the last 6 months thanks to Nvidia's lack of Fermi. I would bet that they have been holding some of the revenue in reserve just so they could drop the prices to stay at the better price/performance ratio to Nvidia. On top of that, HIS accidently let everyone now that the HD6xxx series would be out this fall, so it's just a matter of time before the HD5xxx series drops in price anyway.
religious people have a tendency to view any supernatural or psychic experience as evidence of the existence of God/truth of their own religious beliefs.

This is not forum for religious discussion, and those lines were not meant to be the evidence of anything, let alone the evidence of the ultimate truth.
Those lines were meant to say GTX 490 may exist, even if he couldn't imagine, understand or comprehend it. He was amusing that GTX 490 couldn't exist because he couldn't see it, and he was blaming God for that, just like you.
When you quote people, don't cut it to highlight your own speculations and misunderstandings, please quote all of it. But lets keep it to technical discussion, what you seek is OT.
lol Cut this off topic crap. What about the 6 series in Q4? @20-30% Faster than the 5000s, they're probably gonna be pretty close to GTX485 / 490?
Someone is ignorant enough to add religion to the discussion? You clearly have not been in these forums long.. Who gives a darn what anyone believes, come up with a better argument then insulting someone's beliefs. Even if it was true, you wouldnt go around on christmas telling children there is no santa claus, unless you want to be that guy.
No link, no story. Is it interesting that ASUS is making yet another dual card? Yes, yes it is. But don't blabber off some company name claiming that something is, when it's not. We are not fudzilla.

both chips clearly say GF100 A3
^ That's just ASUS' custom project doings like MARS, ARES etc. Expect that card to go for maybe $1200. :) Why it says GTX 490 I dunno tho, I don't see how NV would use GF100 when even 2xGTX 470 would be too hot/draw too much power.
It's from here:

Also seems to have some details on Southern Islands. If this is true, it would be rather disappointing.
It would mean that ATI's next generation high end single GPU graphics card is only 25-30% faster than Nvidia's current generation high end single GPU graphics card, and it is still 6 months away from now. Long before the "6870" will be out, we are likely to have a GTX485 with a GF100 GPU that has all the logic enabled and higher clock speeds. And in 6 months, Nvidia might have a respin/refresh of Fermi or even next generation Fermi cards.
20% clock for clock performance boost + same clocking ability would deffinatly put some more solid competition on nvidia
whoa!!! okay, we have now reached insanity... 3x 8-pin power connectors and a conceviable thermal envelope of 500 watts. wtf...
i do however expect the B1 version of GF100 to bring with it the option for nvidia to enable all processing cores and bump the clock speeds a bit. don't expect the same overclocking headroom though... and we shouldn't continue to parade evergreen's overclocking headroom as a means of competing with GF100. evergreen just doesn't scale as well, nor does it overclock as reliebly. southern islands will keep AMD competative with nvidia after the realease of B1 GF100 and full GF104.
hmmmm both configs would be very interesting, 192bit and 256bit... so i hope if nvidia only does one, partners will make one based on the other config...
my guess is that nvidia will go for a dual 460 192bit 768mb...
