Let's start with some base facts.
GTX480 stock > 5870 stock.
At maximum details in BC BF2 at 1920x1200 with a stock GTX480, it does not have a minimum FPS of 60. Therefore, the same can be said about a 5870 as it is a slower card. Granted yours is overclocked, but that wouldn't cause a massive increase in performance, the FPS boost would be in the single digits.
Now, based on the previously established facts that a GTX480 at 1920x1200 on maximum details in BC BF2 does not maintain a minimum FPS of 60, and that the 5870 is slower than the GTX480 (an overclock won't turn the tides of the final conclusion), it can be easily deduced that a 5870 (even overclocked) will not maintain a minimum FPS of 60 at maximum details at 5040x1050, when the GTX480 fails to do this at 1920x1200.
That is pushing more than DOUBLE the number of pixels as a GTX480 running at 1920x1200, which doesn't have a minimum FPS of 60.
Also are you using 4xAA? That still isn't very clear.
