I got it here:

Or you can just find it on Ebay. And I don't think it's possible to have inverted ATX, maybe with a mod.

i just bring new cm 690 pure case, and it seems it differs from advanced more than i expected, but ijustdidn't like those ugky hdd dock on the roof.
so the difference between pure and advanced is
- no button to turn off the lights
- no hdd on the roof
- bottom hdd block is not removable, so opu can't place 2x120 on the bottom, this is the worst thing for me becoz i was going to watercool it
- much less reach pacakge, not filter, adjustment for 5.25->3.2 cage etc etc
Considering the difference in price ain't that much and with more features, I would get the Advanced version instead and well, that's what I did. I'm not being annoyed by the X-port either since I can always close the cover so it doesn't look ugly or bother me that much, plus it will come in handy if I wanna use the HD for hot swap. And as you pointed out the removable HDD cage at the bottom is the biggest disadvantage since you can't fit a dual rad in there, I don't see the point of getting the Pure version just to save like what, 30 bucks?
well it was my fault, i thought cm 690 II = CM 690 Pure
But it turned out that Pure version is tha same as old 690, but just black inside as other
so there are 3 full black versions - pure, and 690 II advanced and basic
now i'm going to return pure and gert advanced to watercoled it with no any mod
As far as I know they have the Plus version as well but maybe it's only available in Asia. It comes with the side panel and has the dock on top but not for hot swap as you think it's ugly, I don't think it has a cover like the Advanced version.
Anyway you'll have fun with the Advanced version. Pls post some pix when you're done.
I got the Plus version, it has window but no hot swap sata at the top n vga holder.

Nice rig man, very neat and clean. Do you run the computer without the side panel like that?
nope, i run it with closed side panel.
Btw i don't like the fan holder on the window side panel, i think i'm gonna change the window on the sidepanel into plain.
I am, on the other hand, always a fan of side panel since I wanna look at my gears when they're running. :D
I managed to find CM 690 II Basic, but it turned out that it has those nische on the roof for hdd also, only without conenctors. So Advanced version is th only one single choice. Here are other differences between Adv and Basic version I foung on newegg
What is the better way to mount PSU, with fan down or up?Quote:
Both models are the same exact exterior, paint, frame, etc. The BASIC version has:
* ONLY TWO FANS; no top 140mm top exhaust, and front LED fan is 120mm not 140mm.
* just the top two 5.25" toolless mounts instead of four. The rest use screws.
* no dual 2.5" SSD adapter in the top 3.5" drawer.
* no 5.25" to 3.5" two-piece bracket nor the 3.5" front mesh grill.
* no multi-GPU support bracket / 80mm GPU fan mount.
* no top SATA HDD dock or little removeable (loseable) smokey plastic cover. An "Accessory Bin" is in its place, the exact same shape and size.
The GPU holder is fugly IMO and I wouldn't touch that, anyway you can't find an Advanced version at where you live? Is the HD cage at the bottom removable to put an additional rad? As far as the PSU goes I have my fan face down, it doesn't really matter that much as long as you have a case with good air flow, if you have a fan on top then that's even better since the hot air will be sucked from the bottom and blow it out through the back. From what I've seen most people have their fans facing down, probably for the same reason.
Finally! I am happy owner of the advanced version

I will post a little worklog regarding watercooling this case.
Hi guys! I was wondering if this case makes noise when using fans in the side panel like the old 690 does?
Thx in advance!
Any fan (140mm for example), i know it doesn't come with fan, but i'd like to know if someone has tried to put one (for intake). The old 690 makes noise when you put a fan in the side panel, at least for intake.
Thx!
Anyone tell me the cheapest price for 690 II Advanced on eBay shipped in the US? At work for a long time and eBay is blocked and I might go pick one up on the way home if they aren't too much cheaper on eBay (I have a $10 coupon to use on eBay too)
Just got one for a watercooled i7-860, looks really nice for cheep and single 2x120 rad
Nice build Boyu. And Blauhung looking forward to pics...

After looking at pictures of the case more carefully you can see that using certain radiators would get in the way of installing an optical drive in the very top bay.
I found that using a specific radiator such as the Black Ice Xtreme 2 X-Flow Radiator will allow you to mount an optical drive in the top bay giving clearance for your tubing and sata/power cables for your drive. This is due to the fact that the threading holes for the barbs on this specific radiator are on opposite ends.

It is what I will be using for the top radiator in my upcoming build.
I don't see that happening. As of now I'm using a BI GTS Lite and I can tell you that I've around 2-3 cm of clearance between the DVD drive and the mentioned rad. If you use a bigger rad than this you won't be able to use compression fittings but, otherwise, you should be fine.
Of course, don't even think about using a 140mm version on top (double) as it won't fit...

Nice rig, Prava. What fan is it that you are using?
Is that a Swiftech up top?
If so, I just checked out some numbers and the length on the MCR-220 is 284mm the Black Ice Xtreme 2 X-Flow is 292mm. That is only a 8mm difference and since it is such a minuscule amount it don't think it will get in the way.
black ice is quite restrictive and hard to blow throw by fans, it's not best performer among thin rads.
as for mcr-220 on top then yes, it's not possible to have an optical drive on the top bay. even res on top bay, like xspc, will interference with the rad so 90 degree fittings will be necessary there. also as i remember it is possible to have mcr-220 with barbs near backside with optical at top bay, but it looks not aesthetically.
Can a 2x140mm slim rad like swiftech fit on top? Or it can only support 2x120mm slim rad only. Is the intake 140mm led fan good enough,if its weak I would like to change it when I get mine.
